Zeldris did his best to curb his possessiveness, knowing Ava wouldn't like it. He thought he was doing okay now that he was spending time with her more regularly even if he did have to share her attention. Right up until the day she went to donate her genetic material, that is.
He did some research after she told him what she was doing and he was amazed how humans managed to figure out how to work around magic. What they were doing was downright crazy!
He was concerned this would hurt her but she insisted she would be fine and that she had to go to work after it was done because she had already used up all of her sick days when she got a concussion. That stabbed him with guilt because he knew it was his fault even if it had been an accident.
