A commotion and ruining my day

I speed walked away and was going to the cafe. Last night Mr. Sanders said he wanted to test me in a kitchen to see if the quality of my food changes when I'm under stress or pressure.

He also noted that my food was fine for an ammeter, but would taste spectacular to an untrained tongue. I was fine with it.

I was walking to the cafe and noticed I was being followed.

'One on the roof to my right and from the smell, the same smell as the people from before. What was her name again?' I didn't think much and took a sharp glance to the roof to the right and I saw an agent up there. He was from shield.

I stopped and started hopping in place. Then I sprinted. I didn't go super speed fast, I stopped at peak athletic human. I outran my followers.

'Today is my off day. Don't ruin it Nick.' I thought. If he ruined my day today I'll quit on the spot no questions asked. I then slowed down around a corner and opened the doors to the cafe.

"Put on the apron and let's start." Said Mr. Sanders. He was also the head chef and everyone knew I was his apprentice or something like that. I nodded and put it on before getting to a station and right then a order by Mia was on a rack.

I read it quickly and got to work. The order was a medium spicy rice and bean burrito with beef and some fries. They also wanted a mint milkshake.

I started on the meat. I got some ground beef and put it in a skillet. It was already unthought and I put some water in there with it.

I took out the spicy beans and put them in a pot with some water and and coconut milk. I let them stay in the pot while I start on the onions.

I got the onions and started sautéing the onions in a bit of oil. While I'm doing this people are calling orders out and running around the kitchen. I am as well and I scan fell some of them taking glances at my work.

While I'm waiting for the onions to get done, I get the fries and turn the greens on the deep fryer all the way up. I put them in the tray and sat it in the grease after letting it heat up for a while. Then I get back to the onions.

Once the onions soften up and begin to brown, I add some garlic and a little Mexican spices in the mix. The rice is naturally spicy so I didn't over do it. The spices should be toasted before added to the mix.

Once the smell is fragrant add you beans and some water. Let beans simmer for a few minutes to soften up, then mash up about half of them so the beans don't fall out of the burrito in one bite.

Take your beans off the heat and stir some fresh cilantro, a squeeze of lime juice, salt, and pepper.

Give them a taste test and your done. Then you wrap it up neatly.

At this time your fries should be done by now. I took the fries out and put them in a pan and start seasoning them. I put some season salt, onion salt, and pepper on them and mix them up nicely before putting them on the on the tray with the burrito.

Someone is already in charge of milkshakes and I call out for the mint shake and I grab it and hand it off to Mia.

"Good job, Eren. Now back to your station we're always packed!!" Mr. Sanders yelled. I nodded and took another order.

Right now I was serving a customer, because it would teach me to multitask and focus on different things at once.

This was something I didn't learn at Hydra. I was always given one clear mission and was told to focus solely on that. It was something new in a way.

"Eren, the door." Mia called out. I nodded and turned to the door. I sighed lightly.

Why are these people here.

It was the group of kids that I saw before. I still can't seem to remember their names. I walked to them and the petite girl smiled at me. Her friends looked at me as well.

"Follow me to your booth." I said. My expression was the same stoic one and I didn't smile because we found out before that my fake smile is horrible.

The end of my lips tremble when I'm faking. They followed closely behind me and I lead them to their booth and I took out a small notebook and pen.

"Your orders." I said ready to write. They look at the menu and then spoke.

"I want two seashore subways and fries." Said the black haired girl.

"I want the cold cut burger with the toasted read. I also want some fries." Said the copper haired girl.

"I want the southwest chicken wrap without tomatoes. I don't like the bland taste. I also want a fajita quesadilla without the sour cream." Said the girl with autumn orange hair.

"It's a good thing you exercise everyday or you'd be fat Nora. Even though we just got to high-school." Said the copper haired girl. She emphasized exercise and I felt one of them take a glance at me, but I was already walking to the kitchen to make the food.

"I'll start on these orders, now Mr. Sanders." I notified him. He wanted to know so that I'm not over worked more than he thinks I am.

"You need help? That'll be a lot buy yourself." He said.

"EVERYONE GET ON THE GROUND AND EMPTY YOUR POCKETS. EMPTY THE REGISTER NOW."

Yelled someone who was obviously a robber.

I sense five of them. At first I thought they were customers, so I didn't react.

'Looks like I'll have to leave.' I thought. I just got here and the place is about to get robbed, I'll just have to let the police handle it.

'Wait, all the work I did and my pay is going to be stolen.' As I'm thinking this I walk out the door of the kitchen with the other chefs.

"GET DOWN EMPTY YOUR POCKETS AND THE REGISTER NOW." He yelled again.

'If I let this go. I'll lose my pay and now that I think about it I'll loose a good chef to teach me how to cook. I'll also lose a back up job when I leave shield.' I thought.

We were sat down and I was looking at everything stoically. Everyone else was crying and yelling.

Officers were outside and they were talking to the robbers about negotiations. I tuned everything it and basically deleted my presence.

The people were turned around looking at the officers. That's a rookie mistake and I snuck up on the one closest to me and with just enough force to break his jaw I punched him in the face from behind.

*SMACK*

The guys body hit the ground after a smacking sound rang across the cafe. One of them was about to turn around, but I was already on him and sent a roundhouse kick to his head and he flopped to the ground like folding laundry.

There was three left and I was on the next guy to the right. He aimed his gun at me and closed his eyes.

'Never killed before huh.' I thought. What a shame.

I ran at him and hit the gun upward as it let off a volley of bullets. I then kicked the guys leg and it broke. He dropped down in pain and tried to grab me.

I noticed some people taking videos with random phones. I kicked him in the chin next and he dropped to the floor.

One of the guys on the left ran up behind me and was about to swing the tail of his gun down on my head, but I swiped his legs and he was falling. Mid fall I kicked him in the stomach and I think he shitted on his self.

The last guy was visibly shaking. He slowly pointed his gun at me and my stoic face turned into a 'really' type face. Well at least to me. On the outside my face probably looks the same.

I took a step in his direction and he flinched and was about to test his luck with a gun when the girl named Nora smashed a gun tail to the side of his face.

She used the gun of the first guy I ki- beat. I stood there as cops came to detain me for some reason.

'What is this shit.' I was curious, but didn't care enough to do anything about it. That's because a shield agent in a black and white suit with sunglasses on came through the door and showed him his card.

The officer let me go immediately and I was lead out by the agent. I got stares...from everyone.

'Why would they send him like this, at least try to be undercover.' I thought blandly.

"Please continue on with your day, sir." He said.

"My day has been ruined." I said with a slightly noticeable sneer. I then breathed out and looked at the sky and my watch.

It was 5:36pm. I sighed and was about to walk off whenI heard Mia's voice from behind me.

"Eren, thank you. You'll get your check tomorrow." She said from the door. I nodded and went along with my...evening.
