Illuminated by the sunlight, Lucian stood on top of a mountain, next to him were Kie, Kokushibo, Akaza, Daki and Gyutaro.
Looking into the distance, he saw some houses still on fire, others already fallen to the ground, leaving only charred wood.
Of course, if you looked closely enough, you could see stains and pools of blood, distributed everywhere. This was all that remained after the demons had carried out their massacre, and only these scant pools of blood could tell that there had once been human life in this place.
Looking at the once lively, now lifeless terrain, Lucian could only sigh at how fickle the world is.
'Your sacrifice will not be forgotten. Then he wiped away an imaginary tear.
The Demon Slayer Corps really had made a great sacrifice, gathering so many techniques and nutrients for Lucian.
"Now I'll go after Tamayo, you can return to your normal routine."
Lucian's face returned to normal, totally devoid of any of the sympathy or melancholy he had seemed to have, and he gave orders to those present.
He had no great interest in this "sterile" but still problematic world, and Muichiro Tokito could be proof of his hunch.
'I refuse to believe that the fact that talented twins are born into the Tsugikuni family is mere coincidence.'
A few hundred years after the birth of Yorichii and Kokushibo, twins were born again. Even though one of them died early, Tokito's talent was still formidable, and given time he would probably reach Yorichii's level.
After all, one thing to note is the fact that Yorichii trained from a very early age, while Tokito only started around the age of fifteen.
Using a combination of high-speed movement and teleportation, it didn't take Lucian long to reach Asakusa.
And with his powerful senses, he soon found Tamayo, who, being a demon, possesses a vitality as great and visible as a beacon in the darkness.
Then he quickly appeared in front of her, ignoring all the physical barriers that stood in his way.
Lucian looked at her, her long, parted dark brown hair fell over the sides of her beautiful face, her eyes had a hazy, lavender color going to dark purple, her red lips formed a contrast to her pale skin.
'A really attractive woman.
Tamayo's gentle eyes were now full of surprise, watching Lucian, who appeared in front of him.
"Who are you?" Tamayo asked suspiciously, already preparing to strike back if this stranger attacked her.
"Hello, I'm Lucian, the new demon king." Lucian introduced himself, still surprised that a demon could have such kind eyes even after living for 500 years.
Strictly speaking, Tamayo is the oldest demon currently alive.
"New...? Does that mean Muzan is dead?" Tamayo quickly got to the heart of the matter, standing up in shock.
Muzan's death is something she has been longing for since the moment he deceived her.
He offered a cure for her illness, but in the end he turned her into a demon, consequently causing the death of her husband and son.
"Exactly." Lucian confirmed, sitting down in front of Tamayo, who quickly calmed down and sat down again.
"... I imagine it's surrender or death." Tamayo let out a sigh, looking at Lucian's countenance, she could feel the ambition bubbling up.
Without saying anything, Lucian just smiled, allowing her imagination to run wild.
"You can kill me. I have no desires or ambitions left in this life, I just want to be reunited with my family in the afterlife," she said, her resignation clearly demonstrated.
"I'll grant your wish and make sure your death is painless." Lucian assured her that he liked Tamayo very much and didn't intend to make things difficult for her.
In fact, if things were a little different, he would try to relate to her.
If he had come to this world on the side of the demon slayers, perhaps they had both developed feelings while planning Muzan's death.
Or if he had offered Muzan's head, he could make a contract with Tamayo, binding her to him and preventing her will to die.
The first situation would be to influence her, gradually making her want to live again; the second situation would be to force her to live.
But as things stood now, there was nothing that would make her stay alive.
Hearing Lucian's words, Tamayo opened her arms, raised her head, leaving her neck exposed, and closed her eyes, indicating that she couldn't resist being killed.
Seeing this, Lucian raised a thin tentacle and then struck, killing her painlessly, just as promised.
He had learned to do this from Gyu's memories, this was the fifth form of water breathing - Blessed Rain After Drought.
"Thank you." Even though she didn't have much reason to, Tamayo still thanked him as his body slowly turned to ash.
She could see her memories flashing before her eyes, and could almost hear the voice of her husband, who was already on the other side waiting for her.
But the world was dissatisfied with the amount of drama that was already taking place and at that moment Yushiro entered.
"Mrs. Tamayo!" he exclaimed in despair as he watched her turn to ash.
"I'm sorry, but I won't be able to accompany you anymore Yushiro, and know that this was my choice," said Tamayo, trying to give him some comfort, before turning to ashes completely.
"Be strong, man." Lucian patted him on the shoulder as he watched Tamayo's ashes disappear.
He didn't have much interest in this guy, unlike Tamayo who was a centuries-old demon with a wealth of knowledge, Yushiro was just a newborn.
Then Lucian left, leaving only Yushiro kneeling on the ground, mourning the death of his beloved.
Knowing this story of unrequited love, Lucian sighed at the cruelty of the world.
Inside the castle of infinity, Lucian began to extract memories from Tamayo's blood.
'So it's possible to transform demons like that! Fascinating!'
'And her medical and chemical abilities were simply formidable!' The information Lucian obtained simply amazed him.
He knew that such things would certainly come in handy in the future.
Having finished analyzing her memories, he soon turned his attention to something of greater importance - preparing things for the journey between worlds.
'In the same way that I merged [Body Manipulation] with [Blood Manipulation], I intend to merge [Demon Gourd Magic] with [Sash Manipulation]... Which one should I keep predominant? I think sashes look more stylish than gourds, as well as having superior stealth. Lucian concluded his thought.
The process soon began, and considering that his expertise with kekkijutsus was much greater than before, he didn't experience any great difficulties.
Just like creating a Frankenstein, he dismembered the two kekkijutsus, then sewed their parts together.
Keeping the head and torso of the [Sash Manipulation], he sewed the limbs of the [Demon Gourd Magic].
And that was it, a "new" kekkijutsu had been created.
'What should I call it?' Lucian began to ponder.
'[Blood Sash]!'
Then he looked at his creation, a long belt that was highly flexible, yet capable of becoming as hard as steel, while also being incredibly sharp.
Several designs ran along the black strip, which could also change color.
These drawings were the familiar ones stored inside the strip and when Lucian needed them, they would turn from two-dimensional images into three-dimensional bodies.
Of course, while retaining the ability to produce a blood-like substance that can be freely manipulated and the ability to store various beings and objects in a pocket-sized space.
"That's it! I've got what I need!" Lucian exclaimed happily as he finished the process.
Now the only thing he needed to do was seal the infinity castle in a sash and then place the sash inside his body, so that both could be taken with him.
"Everyone come to the castle of infinity." Lucian ordered, and soon everyone appeared in front of him.
Those left among the kizuki: Kokushibo, Akaza and Gyutaro.
Their wives: Kie, Daki, Mitsuri and Shinobu.
The six children of the Kamado family.
And finally, Mitsuri's parents and brother.
"Get ready, because now we're going on a journey to another world, side effects may include: nausea, lightheadedness, lethargy and fainting." He warned.
The kizuki seemed calm, their wives were eager to see the new world and of course those who are ordinary people were highly nervous.
Seeing that everyone was ready, Lucian began the process and as the banners spread through the castle, the walls trembled, as if floating between layers of space.
And if anyone could see such phenomena, they would see an entire dimension shrinking, before turning into a point of light and disappearing into infinite darkness.
