Noah figured that if anyone knew where Harold could be, it would be her or Jake. But since the shadow had told him about the exchange between Jake and Harold, the only option left was Olivia. Considering they knew each other much longer, chances were that his trust in her would be recovered faster. Besides, what other choice did he have? His entire network was being watched and looked into because of what Noah and his team had done. This closed off any options he had in the town he had rebuilt his sketchy business, including his own pieces of property.
With Olivia being from a family that was relatively wealthy, it was very likely that she, or her family, had some different pieces of property to their name. For that alone Olivia was a good ally to have in Harold's current situation. This was also why it wouldn't be surprising to Noah if Harold had taken refuge at an address provided by Olivia. But aside from that, from what he had heard from Laila, Harold seemed to have a bit of a thing for Olivia. This gave him another reason to reach out to Olivia and also added to the likelihood of him actually reaching out to her after getting himself into such massive trouble.
Noah stepped out of the car when they arrived and the shadow followed right behind him. Noah pressed the doorbell and Olivia's butler opened the door. He immediately recognized Noah and let him in without question because of earlier instructions he had gotten from Olivia herself. Of course he did not know what had taken place today and therefore did not thing that something might have changed in that regard. Both Noah and the shadow were taken to wait in the living room as the butler went to get Olivia.
Fortunately for them, the butler did not mention the guest being Noah and had only said that there was a surprise guest waiting for her in the living room. This caused Olivia to walk in excitedly, unaware of what was waiting for her, only to freeze in her step from shock. Noah didn't know if it was because she had been expecting Harold or if she had heard about what had taken place and was therefore shocked to see him sitting there in the flesh. Either way, her reaction told them that she knew something. Now all they needed to do, was figure out what exactly she knew.
In a stammering tone Olivia said, "N-Noah, what brings you here today? And, why do you look so dishevelled? Did something happen to you?" Noah was wearing his poker face and was sitting on the couch with his elbows on his knees and his arms forming a somewhat intimidating and ominous-looking triangle. In a calm tone he replied to her questions with the following. "Hi Olivia. Good to see you too. I came here because you told me that I would always be a welcome guest in your home, am I not?"
Olivia let out a sheepish laughter before she said, "I'm sorry. I didn't mean that. Of course you are welcome here. You are my best friend's husband and my friend. Ha. Ha. Ha." Noah didn't respond to her words and just continued what he wanted to say by answering her remaining questions. "As for your other questions, you could indeed say that something happened to me. I was involved in a very dangerous incident and I almost lost my life today. Fortunately I managed to survive but because someone targeted me and my family, I would like to find the people responsible. I can't let a crime like this go unpunished, now can I? I was hoping you could help me with finding some of the people involved as I believe that you know them."
Olivia's eyes grew wide and she looked like she could either faint or run at any second. She again responded in a stammering tone as she tried to deny any knowledge or involvement. "W-what do you mean? Why would I know anyone that would try to harm you. I told you, we are friends. I would never hurt you or allow anyone I know to hurt you as well."
Noah showed a cold smile before he said, "Well, I am glad you still feel that way. In that case you won't mind telling me why Harold Richardson contacted you earlier today, shortly after some explosives went off in my building's garage." Noah had given Anthony access to the data that was being copied and transferred from Olivia's, and now also Jake's, phone. This was all real-time data but the data also contained everything taken place before they logged into the platform where the data was being stored.
In his quest to find out Harold's location, Anthony also looked into the data provided by Olivia and Jake. Stored among there, he found a call made to Olivia from an unknown number. Since this number had called a few times today and she had never received a call from the number before that, it stood out to him. When he looked at the time stamps, he noticed that the calls were all made around the time of the explosion. One call about an hour or so before, then a call about fifteen minutes before the bombs went off and one just an hour or two ago.
Anthony informed Noah of what he had discovered just as they drove onto the driveway, confirming Noah's hunch and giving him something to work with during his surprise visit. Even though they had never actually proven that the number belonged to Harold and the phone seemingly being nothing more than a burner phone with an untraceable number, Noah was certain that it had been Harold who had called Olivia. He planned on using Olivia's reaction to his questions about those calls and the mentioning of Harold's name, to confirm what Noah considered to be the undeniable truth.
Alright, I did the count and from januari up till now I was 21 chapters behind. By now I have managed to write 12 chapters extra to reduce the backlog I have, meaning we are now at -9 chapters. From now on I will be counting until we are back to zero! Wish me luck ╰(*°▽°*)╯
