Chapter 7 – A sparkle of a clue

It was almost mid-day when I was checking my secret mobile hiding in the restroom. Well… it was mobile of Sanjay. Ahh… I feel like I'm having a bipolar personality.

No more updates… Sh*t. When will he inform me about the next steps? Uncle Jayanath… You are taking too much time for this. I immediately dialed his number before someone invades my sacred privacy as Sanjay, in the restroom.

That bastard never answered. Ahhh… WTF uncle… Are you checking my patience? You better not to. I left the restroom aggressively slamming the door.

I managed to calm myself before entering the classroom. My good-for-nothing best friend was searching for me as I was missing for several days.

I bet you would find me in 'missing' posters if I was late for more than five minutes. That annoying bastard…

"Where were you?" He was super mad at me but I didn't see a damn fair reason for that. "It's private" I pretended not to see his annoyance.

"What privacy huh… I asked you not to be alone anywhere… What if those jerks try to hurt you, Sanju? You are a real trouble inviter" I couldn't help but laugh when he was yelling restlessly.

"So will you go with me to the girls' restroom next time" Hahaha, you better see that bastard's face at that moment. Doomed and darken.

"Well… at least I could stay at the door. What if those b*tches were there?" Dear Rosh, you are just about to cross the limits. F*cking bastard.

"Be practical, Rosh. You cannot follow me and protect me at every second like this. I must adapt to this environment. Let me do it alone" I felt my fingers shivering with anger although my voice was so calm.

" Whatever… I dunno" He turned away with that same distorted face. "F*ck you" I muttered under my throat. There were no more chats among us till the evening sessions are over.

After a few more boring lecture hours, the bell rang and I ran to the restroom again in order to check my mobile. I was so excited to contact uncle Jayanath as he promised to inform me of those confirmed clues.

But there was nothing. Nothing at all. I was tired of waiting. I was embraced with a huge disappointment. I hate that bastard who dragged me to this hell. I was totally clueless about my mission. I don't know how and where should I start.

I hate myself. I hate my f*cking unlucky life. I hate everything.

I just wanted to scream and smash all the things around me. I wanted to do a mess around myself. My inner demon was about to explode and destroy everything.

But I have to keep myself calm. I have to pretend it. My short temper should not destroy what I have gained. Everything would be wasted from my unwanted actions.

I can not let I t happen.

I threw my secret mobile into my bag, closed my eyes, and started to breathe deeply before leaving the cubicle. There were a few girls in the restroom staring at me while I was rushing with heavy steps.

Well… I must say that I totally forgot to be that innocent girl, Sanjana, instead of that, mischievous Sanjay was there.

"Sanju"

Ahhh… f*ck… I thought that I had escaped from him. Rosh ran towards me across the outdoor playground.

"Going home?" He hesitated to talk with me for the first time. "Mmmh…" I answered him while keeping my vision straight.

"Mad at me?" He jumped and blocked my path. "Nah… just hurrying home," said looking at him for the first time after the smooth argument.

"Don't lie to me, Sanju… I know that you are mad at me" his eyes were searching for something via the mine. His direct gaze was just enough to puncture my soul.

"Ok … I'm mad with your annoyance" Those words were spat out even before I think. Well… I regret it, I must say.

"That's because I… He screamed and stopped suddenly. "I care for you" It was like a mumbling. I looked at him again.

I had the maximum effort to stay calm. Although I wasn't angry, the deep disappointment and feeling of fed-up would make that incident worse.

"Look, Rosh… I know you are trying to help me. But you can't do it by invading my personal space. That's not fair. And what's more, no one would hurt me again since they know that you are with me."

" Mmmh… I'm sorry, girl"

"Just forget that. Goodbye Rosh" I hurried to escape from him.

"Wait, Lemmi say sorry properly"

"What? I thought you did it" That f*cking bastard never misses a chance.

"Nah… let me treat you with an evening snack. Having dinner may be impossible because you have to go home before it is dark."

"I'm not in a mood, Rosh. Well… next time ok?? I didn't apologize to him purposely. I literally wanted to kick that ass.

" Ok then," Surprisingly he didn't bargain. While he was walking towards the car park, I got on my bike and put my helmet on.

I saw some girls who were giggling and gossiping at me. Idgaf about those babies. I have no time for that.

Suddenly, my secret mobile, or Sanjay's mobile started to ring and vibrate. There was only one message. Just one. But that thing changed my whole mood.

" I will be in Thailand tomorrow morning… Uncle Jayanath"

I was freakily happy and just wanted to scream till my throat tear.

I started my bike and accelerated towards the car park to block the path of Rosh who was about to start his car.

I blew my horn twice and smiled at him. He got my signal, ran towards me, and within a second, he was on my bike.

"where should we go" I rode the bike to the main gate of the University.

"Just this way, I'll guide you" That bastard was super delighted and I was even more. However, our reasons were totally different.

He guided me to an alley that was new to me and within a few minutes, we were in front of a shopping mall and a native Thai restaurant.

"I had no idea what was going inside his head and I didn't worry about it. I was excited by that message and what's more, I was confident about myself.

"This way…" He led me to the shopping mall and within a few minutes, our shopping cart was full of dozens of chocolate, snacks, and many more.

"Just gimme a few minutes" he kept his credit card in my hand at the cashier and ran away. I didn't get his awkward behavior.

My f*cking ego didn't let me pay with his card and therefore I just tried to use mine. "Madam, sir strictly said not to accept your card. Please let me accept that card otherwise, I'll lose my job."

"Whatever…" I paid with his card cuz I didn't want to hurt innocents.

"Hello ms. Sanju" a sudden voice made me gasp. "You idiot, where were you?" I hit his head with my clenched fist.

"Ouch… mm… nowhere. Shall we leave?" Rosh carried all the grocery bags to the bike. After placing all of them in the cabin under the seat of the bike, he invited me to the nearby restaurant.

I didn't think twice as I just wanted to celebrate the best news I had after leaving my country.

Here, we had a simple yet delicious meal with joyful chatter. I must admit that it was the best day I had for months. Well… after the pass out of my dad, of course.

I was thrilled to know about those clues and evidence that uncle Jayanath would bring me. And also I was super excited to start my mission. That's my misery… I must complete it with my life.

"Btw Sanju, What made you happy this much huh… I'm sure that it was not me. What did change your mood" His face was distorted with curiosity.

"Why do you ask?" I chuckled.

"Just asked… Mmm… Felt jealousy of course"

"Hahaha… Really?? Well… then it is my dad"

I didn't believe his words and will never… However, there were some changes in his unpredictable eyes. I must say that they were more meaningful to me day by day.

Or am I gaslighted??

F*ck… I totally forgot that I must get ready for the next day. I must arrange everything for his arrival and moreover, I must start my mission with his evidence as soon as possible.

"Omg Rosh, I'm late."

"What?? It's not that late. You've been with me till the sun set last day."

"But today is different, I have many more things to do"

"Well… Let's leave then. Please let me finish this dish only ahhh… It is super delicious."

"you greedy idiot"

"Whyyyyy… I love them…"

"Ok Ok just finish it"

That bloody rascal was trying to be with me some more time. Yeah… I know that you bastard. But I don't know why you are doing all those things.

"Ahem... Sanju, I have something for you." He kept a gorgeous, charming key tag. My favorite color, purple and some sparkling on it.

It reminds me of my life. That simple clue made my life better and prettier, just like that sparkle.

I turned it. "Sorry" was the word written on it. It was a prettier gift for a girl like Sanjana. But not for Sanjay.

"Thank you, Rosh." I must admit that I didn't fake my smile.

"Pleasure to see your smile.. C'mon girl. Let's go"

We flew to the university and I rushed home before he could start his car. Yeah… you are correct. I didn't want him to know my whereabouts.

Well… tomorrow is the day. The most awaited day. I'm sure that I won't be able to sleep with this excitement. Omg, please I want this night to end soon. I want to see the sunrise soon.

I need those evidence. I need to find the murderer of my dad, to reveal that mystery. I will do that, Dad. Please pray for me.
