Chapter 23

Alexis' POV

Alexis had taken her sister and her friend directly into the office of Captain Gates cause she figured it was for the best since she couldn't see neither Ryan or Esposito. When they walked inside the office Alexis knocked on the door.

"Ye..?" Gates stopped talking when she saw who it was.

She immediately looked down at her desk and then up again.

"Thank god you two are ok, where did you find them?" she asked Alexis.

"I was on my way to a friend when they came running behind my car" Alexis told Gates.

"You should go call your parents right away, I sent them home since I could see that Beckett couldn't handle the pressure" Gates told them.

"Mom broke down?" Johanna asked and Alexis could hear the lump she had in her throat.

"Hey, it's not your fault" Alexis said turning to her sister and embraced her into a hug.

"Yes it is, if I hadn't gone out looking for Gale I would've never gotten caught" Johanna said and Alexis heard her small crying.

Alexis stroke the back if Johanna trying to comfort her. She hated when her little sister was crying. It made her feel like a lousy sister.

"Johanna, it's not your fault, but you should make that a warning. You shouldn't sneak to crime scenes and get involved with something you shouldn't" Gates said calmly.

Alexis knew that it wouldn't help much so she thanked Gates and led her sister out of the office. Johanna's friend followed them since he had no choice because of the handcuffs and by the time they came to Kate's desk Alexis made the connection. She thought she had seen him somewhere and now she rememberd that pic of him Johanna had showed her when she had asked her what to do with boys she liked a little extra.

"Sorry is your name Gale, by any chance?" Alexis asked Gale and he looked at her with raised eyebrows but nodded.

Alexis smiled at Johanna who looked at her terrified. Alexis shook her head and looked around on the desk of Kate's and tried to look for something she could use to open the handcuffs.

"Why don't you call Kate while I look for someone to get those of you" Alexis asked and started to look through the first drawer in the desk.

"Can't you do that? I don't feel like I can do it" Johanna asked and she had tears in her eyes again.

"Fine, but you stay right here" Alexis said and took out her phone.

She called Kate and when she answered she smiled.

"Kate".

"Hi, Kate, Alexis here, umm... you and dad should come to the precinct, Johanna and Gale are right here with me" Alexis said into the phone.

"What?! Where are you?!" Kate exclaimed in the phone and Alexis winced by the power in her voice.

"The precinct, I told you. Come over as fast as you can, they're both ok" Alexis reassured.

Alexis could feel the gaze Johanna was giving her, she would not be ok until she would see her parents.

"We'll be right there" Kate said and they ended the call.

"Yo! When did you get here?" Esposito asked and Alexis turned towards his voice to see him walk into the precinct.

"And you found the kids" Ryan exclaimed from behind Esposito.

"Actually, they found me, but do you guys know anyone who knows how to get out of handcuffs without the key?" Alexis asked and when the two detectives wrinkled their foreheads in question.

Alexis pointed on Johanna and Gale who held up their hands which were still cuffed together. Both Esposito and Ryan started laughing so hard that they got tears in their eyes.

"Why are you laughing?" Alexis asked with a smile which she couldn't stop from coming because of the laughing.

"What's going on out here?" Gates came out from her office and glared at the two detectives.

They immediately calmed themselves down and looked around.

"Nothing" they both said at the same time and went to their desks to continue their investigation.

"Johanna, Gale, can you two identify the persons who took you? Did you see their faces?" Ryan asked and Alexis looked at the two kids.

"No, sorry" Johanna said with a sad voice,

"Me neither" Gale said with the same tone.

Alexis found some pins in one of the drawers in Kate's desk and turned to Johanna and Gale.

"Let's see that hancuffs" she said and they put out their hands towards her.

She tried to open the cuffs but it wasn't as easy as she would have thought. She knew it was a longshot but since she happened to crack open that door in Paris when she was abducted she thought she might succeed with this challenge too. After about ten minutes there was a ding from the elevator and she turned to see her dad and Kate come running with her two brothers behind them.
