“Why are you here?”
Jordan made a show of sniffing the air before smirking at Darby. “You slut! You’re sleeping with Riordan and Dillon, aren’t you?”
Darby scoffed. “Not that it’s any of your business, but yeah. That’s all we did, though. It’s all very innocent. Really.”
Jordan snorted. “Are you sure about that?”
“Yes, and you’re avoiding my question.”
“What question?”
“Why are you here?” Darby repeated for the second time. “It’s not even five yet. Officially, you don’t knock off until it’s half past five.”
“It’s nearly the peak of the tax season, and I’ll most probably be stuck in the office until at least ten in the evening. I may even be there until way past midnight. I’m taking a much-deserved break right now.”
“You can do that in the coffee shop five doors away. Or the bakery across the street. There’s also a diner—”
“But I want to spend my short break with my lovely cousin.”
