“You’re still a young woman then,” Darby retorted, and his mother preened at the compliment.
“Well, that’s true.”
Then Dorothy winked, and everyone burst out laughing. Darby shook his head in amusement.
“Business is quiet tonight,” Belinda pointed out while glancing around the bookshop.
“It happens once in a while,” Darby said. “The customers often pack the shop to its capacity two days before the full moon.”
“Not the day before?” Jordan asked.
“Nope,” Darby replied. “That’s when they start preparing for whatever rituals or any other activities they generally do during the night of the full moon.”
“What if you don’t stock what they need?” Jordan inquired.
