What do I call you now?

Ashur and Hephaestus were slowly backed into the alleyway until they reached the end of it and were backed against a wall.

God1: "It's over, your both cornered"

Goddess1: "Now spill! What's both of your relationship with each other?"

God2: "Ashur are you pursuing the new goddess? so that's your taste...no wonder you have turned down all those goddesses pursuing you!"

'This is getting dangerous' Ashur thought as he tried to think of a way to clear his reputation

God3: "Is that really why? I just thought that he was being the 'Eternal ice king' he always was? is he really into little girls?"

God1: "That makes a lot more sense as who could refuse several goddesses interested in him?"

God2: "Then why don't we make a race of people that looks like kids when we create the lower world? so that he can have as many as he can?"

God4: "Ohhh, that's a good idea, ill write it down!"

Goddess1: "Don't get off topic! we have to find out going on between those two!"

God2: "That's right! Ashur, what's your relationship?"

Ashur thought for a moment and said "What do you mean? I have never thought about her like that! I just wanted to comfort a child that was getting bullied and wanted to cheer her up"

'Clang' 'Smash' various gods that pulled out wine glasses or chalices filled with wine, watching the performance dropped what they were holding as they could not help do so as they were filled with shock.

As they looked at him, they had one thing on their minds, 'Is this really the 'eternal ice king' they know?'

God1: "What did I just witness.....Ashur caring for someone for once?"

God3: "This has to be a trick! there is no way the 'Eternal ice king' can care for someone!"

various gods clattered as Ashur wondered to himself why he got to be known as such and for them to be so shocked. 'Is it because I didn't really care much before and ignored what I found annoying?'

Goddess1: "There must be something going on between you two!"

"There is really nothing going on between us, I don't think of her like that, even though we just met, she's like the daughter I never had," Ashur said after thinking for a bit

God5: "Hahaha, it sounded like you want her as your daughter or something? Are you going to try to Adopt her?" he said with a laugh as he joked.

Ashur, hearing this, fell into deep contemplation and after a while and spoke "Actually, I would not mind having such a cute girl as my daughter but that's all up to her about that"

"Hun?" some gods were stunned to hear this as having another god typically an older god as an adoptive parent is very rare but there have been examples in the past of gods adopting other gods as their children to cope with how they can't produce offspring and this is the closest thing a god can have for a child and a parent.

God1: "Wait, wait, wait.... is Ashur really planning to adopt the new god?"

The gods clamored at this revelation, meanwhile, Hephaestus who was watching quietly on the side had her mind full of chaos as she thought about what Ashur said.

'Adopt her? did he really want to adopt her? with her having this disgusting eye?.' Hephaestus has gotten really fond of Ashur because he was the only one who actually called her pretty, he was the one of the few actually kind to her, he also was never disgusted by her eye. Even though they only just met, he was already high in her heart.

'But what if he suddenly feels disgusted by it after a while?' Hephaestus suddenly thought for the worst as she did not want to be abandoned and be alone again.

"B-but...what if you suddenly feel disgusted by my eye?" Hephaestus said as she secretly feared his answer but still a bit hopeful.

Ashur looked at her and suddenly knelt down and hugged her, "how could I ever, not like an eye as cool as that! didn't I promise always to be with you?"

"Okay, ill do it!" Hephaestus said with tears in her eyes.

Various gods watched this touching scene with some even having tears in their eyes while others looked confusedly at Ashur wondering how he can stand her ugly deformity and even call it 'cool', one even voiced his opinion.

"Ashur, I know this is touching and all but how could you stand a freak like her?"

Ashur slowly got up slowly and looked at the god and stared fiercely at him

"I'll say this to you all only once! If anyone! And I mean anyone! Makes my daughter sad or makes her cry, I'll break his legs!"

The gods all felt shivers down their spines as Ashur scrutinized the crowd while saying this.

Hephaestus did not know what to feel as he said this but couldn't help show a small smile that came from her lips.

"Let's go home," Ashur said as he grasped Hephaestus's hand and walked towards the crowd.

the crowd parted as Ashur and Hephaestus walked forward and they passed through the crowd before walking in the direction of Ashur's house until they reached out of the god's sight.

After them leaving, the remaining crowd of gods suddenly burst into sound as they started chattering with each other.

God1: "This is big news! We have to spread it!"

God3: "The 'Eternal ice king' has finally melted! That will make a good headline!"

God2: "How about, 'Eternal ice king is a daughtercon' That will make a even better headline!"

The gods started clamoring about trying to find the right headline and Ashur blissfully unaware that which headline that was chosen could ruin his whole reputation.

Meanwhile, Ashur was walking with Hephaestus as she asked him a question

"So, what do I call you now?" she said looking at him with inquisitive eyes

"Hmmm, you can call me papa or father but I prefer you call me dad," Ashur said while secretly hoping that she call him dad as he could officially make dad jokes.

"Okay, ill just call you dad"

'Yes!' Ashur said in his mind as he was mentally doing a fist pump.

They then continued walking towards Ashur's house.
