Chapter 8 - The Existence beyond a Saint

At the -177th branch of Judgment Office, Touma arrived in front of the office, carrying a plastic bag containing a clean uniform for Kotori. Because she was too busy doing her job in the Judgement office she doesn't have a time to go home, and need Touma's help to bring her a clean school uniform, so she could go to school in a clean and odor-free uniform. So that het reputation as a one of model student is not damaged.

Touma then entered the Judgment Office with a bored look on his face, he want to immediately give the bag containing the clean uniform to his sister, give the report about Kaori and Yukina and then returned to Yuuragi Sou to continue his disturbed sleep. The chaotic life in his previous life made Touma a rather lazy person, and always wanted a peaceful life.

"Yoo Kotori, here's a clean uniform for you," Touma said with a sleepy look on his face.

"Aaah Onii-chan thank you so much for bringing me the clean uniform!" Kotori said who jumped up from where she was sitting and hugged Touma's body. "The work in this office seems endless, I can't go home at all tonight."

"With the chaotic situation in Academy City, I don't think it's strange that your work in Judgment Office is never finished," Touma said while rubbing Kotori's head. "Would you like to hear the information I got regarding some unknown people who entering the Academy City without permission."

"Yes, of course," Kotori said, her face red because her head is being rubbed by Touma. "What information did Onii-chan get about those people?"

"It seems that the unknown people came to Academy City to arrest someone named Rudolf Eustach," Touma explained. "A scientist from outside Academy Town who came to this city to do some research."

"Well, I've heard of Rudolf Eustach's name," Kotori said who had returned to her seat. "He is a scientist from Europe who was hired by Gensei Kihara a few weeks ago. A report from the Academy City side stated that the two of them were doing research on cloned organs. Was it the research on cloned organs developed by Rudolf Eustach that caused him to be chased by the strangers?"

"It seems the problem is more than just research on cloned organs," Touma said with his mouth wide open as he yawned. "Don't you know how evil Kihara Gensei is, and how many illegal acts he commits in Academy Town? He can avoid the law, because the city council members need his intelligence, most likely Rudolf Eustach was a scientist as evil as Kihara Gensei, and it was because he did something bad in Europe that the foreigners had come to this city to arrest him. Although two of the four foreigners who come to this city are Japanese."

"Where those people came from is what we have to investigate," Kotori said. "Because even though there's a possibility that they arrested Rudolf Eustach because the scientist did something bad, what they did was illegal. Because they didn't ask for help from the Academy City side."

"When it comes to that, it seems that they got help from Academy Town," Touma said. "You see, when they make a big fuss the anti-skills and our police help the unknown people by securing the area, so that no one interferes with the arrest."

"Sigh, if the Academy City is willing to help them, then the affairs of the unknown are not something we can interfere with," Kotori said looking annoyed. "Though I had hoped that the foreigners were part of a mysterious organization that had come to this Academy City to do something horrendous."

"Your imagination and excessive sense of justice coupled with your great curiosity can bring trouble to you and your subordinates Kotori," Touma said with a sigh. "You'd better just do your job as judgement chief, and don't try to meddle in matters that go beyond your authority as one of the judgement."

After saying that, Touma said goodbye to Kotori and hurried off to return to Yuuragi Sou so he could continue his disturbed sleep.

Touma's words, made Kotori puff out her cheeks. Touma's words that accurately described the nature she possessed made Kotori feel irritated. Since childhood, Kotori was someone with a high sense of justice who had a great desire to help others because she didn't want anyone else to experience the same suffering as her who was banished by her parents to Academy City.

She also has a high imagination, due to her hobbies watching anime and reading manga. So sometimes Kotori can act like a Chuunibyou.

After her annoyance subsided, Kotori opened a new lollipop. And put it in his mouth, to quell her annoyance.

Kotori loves her brother who is a bit lazy and lacks motivation to do many things. But sometimes Touma's mouth that used to say rude and unexpected things made her feel resentful towards her older brother.

Kotori then sighed and looked at the unfinished documents on her desk. She decided to finish the paperwork to forget her annoyance at Touma, while waiting for Konori who was currently going to the mini market to buy a dinner for the two of them.

"My job to help you is done, Kanzaki Kaori." Himeragi Yukina, who had completed her task of assisting in the capture of Rudolf Eustach, was relieved that she had finally completed her task with Kaori.

She didn't want to stay in Academy City for too long, because Academy City was a hotbed of enemies for someone from the Lion King Organization like her.

And whatever Kaori and her two friends in Academy City wanted to do next was none of her business, because Yukina's job was only to help Kaori catch Rudolf.

"That's why we're going our separate ways here, as I have to return to the organization."

Kaori nodded her head then walked towards the hotel where Index and Stiyl were staying, she still had another task to erase Index's memories. Meanwhile Yukina walked towards the exit of Academy City so she could return to the organization.

Inside a dark room lit by the light from a monitor. Kihara Gensei smiled, when he saw Rudolf being captured by Necessarius' side. Necessarius could know about Rudolf's whereabouts in Academy City, because it was Gensei who had informed Necessarius. In the several weeks they had worked together, he had never considered Rudolf a friend or co-worker.

He only saw Rudolf as a pawn that he could use to achieve his goals. Gensei needs a strong human body, for the experiments he performs.

But even clones of level 5, the Misakas weren't strong enough to fulfill what he wanted. That's why when Rudolf came to Academy City and showed Gensei the results of his research.

Kihara Gensei had great pleasure, because he was finally able to create a human clone body that was strong enough for him to experiment with. Even if the clones' lifespan was short, it wasn't a problem for Gensei, as what mattered to him were cheap bodies that he could mass produce.

Athough making a human clones is a bad thing, but Gensei didn't care, because for the Kiharas morals and ethics are not needed to achieve what they want.

Just before Himeragi Yukina, exit Academy City. her cell phone is ringing and the message she got from her boss making Yukina scream in shock. Because Himeragi Yukina gets a new assignment that requires her to stay in Academy City, as a student.
