Chapter 73 - New Student

Touma arrived at his school together with Shizuka exactly one minute before the class is started. Touma looked just fine, but Shizuka was covered in sweat and her face looked a bit pale. The two of them ran from Yuragi Sou to their school at a very high speed so Shizuka looked tired, while Touma, who had far more stamina than Shizuka, looked fine.

"Touma-san because you took too much time to help Mikoto-san, we were almost late for school!" Shizuka shouted breathlessly as she ran fast with the maximum speed she could achieve using her body. "With your power and ability, you should be able to defeat Accelerator with one strike."

"I'm sorry, okay, " Touma said who walked casually with a sleepy face that became his trademark. "I was playing around too much when I faced Accelerator earlier, I thought he could give me some entertainment. But it turns out that despite his brilliant brain, his fighting instincts are really lousy. Te relies too much on Vector Control in everything he does to the point his physical strength is no stronger than that of a ten year old child."

"Well, I can't blame you if you chose to play around a bit and hoped that Accelerator could give you some entertainment, because there isn't a single Esper in Academy City that strong enough to match you," Shizuka said as she put her shoes in the locker, and then she take special school shoes. "Even Accelerator, who is said to be the strongest Esper who can match the military might of a large country, is not an opponent who can match you. The level of power you possess is already beyond a Level Five Esper."

"As long as I can find someone who can match me then, I'm will feel pretty satisfied," Touma said while doing the same with Shizuka. "But if the level of the opponent that appears is on par with my grandfather, just like Kagami Ikkoku who defeated me a few days ago maybe I would prefer to run rather than have to die silly and in vain trying to fight an enemy with that level, and my pride as a fighter, it might get stained a bit because I ran against a strong enemy. But that's much better than making the people who are precious to me and also love me to be sad because I died in vain."

Shizuka's face turned red when she heard Touma's words, she completely understood Touma's pride as a fighter was very important. But Touma is willing to throw away his pride so he doesn't make the people he cares about cry and feel sad.

This of course made Shizuka feel very happy because she knew that Touma cared about her and everyone who loved him.

"Hey Shizuka-san, why are you daydreaming with a red face and tears running down your cheeks like that?" Asked Touma who was confused by Shizuka's condition. "Are you getting a dust in your eyes?"

"Hmm? Ooh this? It's okay Touma-san I'm fine," Replied Shizuka who felt relieved because sometimes Touma was insensitive to the feelings of other people around him. "My eyes were a little itchy and I rubbed them a little too hard so my face got a little red and tears came out of my eyes."

"Sigh, you should be more careful Shizuka-san," Touma said who took out his wet tissue and gave the wet tissue to Shizuka. "If you wipe your eyes that hard you might irritate your eyes, use this wet tissue to wipe your eyes so you feel better. Because if your eyes have problems because of irritation you won't be able to follow the lesson properly right?"

Shizuka took the wet tissue that Touma gave her and then she wiped her face using the tissue. The care thar Touma showed for her made Shizuka feel warm in her heart and she fell in love with Touma even more.

"Oh, Shizuka, Kamijou, you two are really lucky to be in class right before Komoe-Sensei came," Aiba said as he smiled at Shizuka and Touma. "Why are you two late? Whereas normally the two of you arrive at class earlier than the other students in this class, even Tsuchimikado and Misono arrived more than five minutes earlier than you two, you know.

Considering the two of them are always the slowest to come to this class, them arriving earlier than you is a miracle. But the two of them won't tell me why you two haven't come even though I asked them."

."I have to wait for Touma-san who has to 'take care' of a problem," Shizuka said who was still holding the wet tissue that Touma had given her earlier then sat on her chair while putting her bag beside the table. "That's why we came late today."

"Trouble, huh," Aiba said who immediately understood what Shizuka meant. "Being the strongest like Touma-san is really troublesome, huh."

"Well, I do want to have a normal life," Touma said who sat in the chair that was right next to Shizuka. "But a normal and peaceful life is impossible in Academy City which is a hotbed of chaos. So I will live my life as best I can, without doing anything to cause trouble to others as well as myself."

"Stop your bullshit Kamijou! You don't want to bother other people! Your existence alone makes other people suffer you know!" Aogami shouted with a face filled with anger. "Without doing anything! All the girls still find your face that always sleepy looks cool! This world is really unfair!"

"Nyaa Kami-yan, you're not suited for saying things like that with your face always looking sleepy," Motoharu said who was sitting right next to Aogami. "Those words are too heavy for a lazy person like you to say."

"Tsuchimikado is right. Touma-chii as a sluggard, act like a sluggard! There's no need to be a philosopher, because your words just now are really unpleasant to hear," Kirika said. "Return to your true self Touma-chii."

"Sigh, as usual, you guys claim to be my friends, but you guys are saying bad things about me in the back," Touma said as he laid his head on the table with a sigh. "The hypocrisy of you three really moved me!"

Touma's words really stabbed into Kirika, Motoharu and Aogami's hearts. And right before the three of them had a chance to reply to Touma's words. Komoe has entered the classroom with Aisa beside her.

"Everyone please be quiet," Komoe said, clapping her hands. "I'll be starting Homeroom today while keeping you all on roll call, but before that I'd like to introduce the new students who will be joining our class today from now on, Aisa-chan introduce yourself to all of them."

Aisa nodded her head, then she bowed her body in front of the class and said:

"My name is Himegami Aisa, nice to meet you."

The addition of a beautiful new student who was very suitable for wearing a miko suit and kimono made all the male students in Touma's class scream loudly.

Kirika and Aogami even whistled loudly to welcome Aisa's arrival.

Meanwhile, Touma and Shizuka could only sigh while tapping their foreheads. Because they both know that Aisa's appearance in their class is the beginning of a new chaos.
