The next morning was uneventful. Jasmine and Ben came in the evening. I can walk now, I no longer need the wheelchair. Jasmine has been sobbing all day. Alongside Mimi. I could not even look them in the eyes. I still feel it is my fault. If only I had been careful and saw the vehicle coming. If only I had not been impulsive. I sighed as I looked at the pale Alyssa. She seems even more pale than the minute. It seems like all the blood that she has been given is drying up somehow. I queried the doctor and had him to do a full body test. And now that I think of it, I wonder why he didn't do that before. Damn Nigerian hospitals. This would not even happen in Canada. The first thing that would have been done was to conduct the test. Or should I fly her out of the country?
I ponder on that thought before the doctor came in. He looks at me dully and then at Alyssa.
