Chapter 30 Confrontation

All the three of them stood rooted in their place like a statue.

This situation lasted for a whole minute and it was Minji who moved first. She looked like she has calmed down a lot after her initial shock and was walking towards them with folded hands and steady steps, looking at them as if they were her prey.

Actually Mingyu was surprised by her composed behaviour. She doesn't seem that surprised or in disbelief at the fact that both him and Wonwoo, us two men were so close and intimate with each other, Mingyu concluded this in his head. Did she knew about Wonwoo hyung's sexuality as well? Though it was not impossible for her to know cause both of them were cousins and were as close as siblings. Everyone seems to know about it but him. Is he the last one to know? Does their other friends know about it too?

But what he was more surprised about was that Minji was really very calm right now. He had imagined endless scenarios about how Minji would react when he tells her about his love for Wonwoo. He had imagined that she would cry, shout and make a scene before slapping him but what he never imagined was the 'I-just-knew-it' look on her. Was she sure about my feelings for Wonwoo from the start? Was I really correct in thinking that she has caught on to something earlier on? Or it's just that she is a composed lady or is it calm before a storm?

While she got near to them she suddenly laughed a mocking laugh and it didn't seem to be directed towards others but herself. But when she was just a few steps away from them she stopped there and looked at Wonwoo with a mocking look in her eyes.

" Congratulations oppa, it seems like you did manage to successfully seduce Mingyu from me huh." Minji said to Wonwoo with a sneer forming on her lips.

Mingyu was shocked at her words. Why was she accusing Wonwoo when it clearly was his own fault! She should be directing her anger towards him and not Wonwoo but before he could say anything Wonwoo opened his mouth saying, "It's not like that Minji you are misunderstanding everything".

" Oh! Is that so? So it seems like I'm misunderstanding something here". Minji raised her eyebrow with her mouth forming an 'o' as if some kind of realization has dawn into her. But Mingyu could see that she was being sarcastic towards Wonwoo.

He was starting to feel more and more irritated of Minji's attitude towards Wonwoo.

"Oppa, not only did you seduce my boyfriend but now you are even denying it. I think I should just applaud to your innocent acting" And Minji wasn't kidding when she said this. She really did clap for three times. The claps resounding her vengeance and it did work up the guilt in the hearts of Wonwoo and Mingyu.

But Mingyu still thought it was unfair! Wonwoo doesn't deserve such treatment because all of this was his fault! He must speak up for Wonwoo!

"Enough Minji! I was the one who has wronged you! Wonwoo hyung wasn't the one who seduced me! I fell in love with hyung a long time ago but it was only now that I realized my love for him" He said it while trying to clutch Wonwoo's hand in his to give him some comfort. Wonwoo just looked at him silently and held his hand loosely.

Minji looked at them holding hands and seemed to have gotten angrier.

She said, " I can't believe you are so stupid! Why is it only now that you have realized your feelings for Wonwoo oppa? If not for him seducing you, how would you have come to like him or realize your feelings for him? Oppa! Am I wrong to say that you have seduced him? Why don't you tell him if I'm wrong or not?!"

When Mingyu and Minji looked at Wonwoo waiting for an answer, Wonwoo just looked down and kept quiet. Looking at him being like this, Mingyu felt like he was going crazy with confusion.

'What's all this going on?! Can someone tell me please?' Mingyu massaged his aching temple.

Minji looked at Wonwoo and his guilt filled posture. Seeing him like this finally made all her emotions well up, those that she was trying hard to suppress. But she didn't cry, even though her eyes were getting moist she tried to blink it away so as not to shed a single tear.

"Oppa, didn't you promise me that you won't make a move on Mingyu anymore after he became my boyfriend? Then why did you break our promise?" Minji said softly, still trying to suppress her emotions by gulping down hard and taking deep calming breaths in between.

Mingyu felt bad for Minji seeing her like this. He is such a jerk! He thought to himself. No matter how his mindset was at that time, he shouldn't have played with Minji's feelings like this. Though he felt remorseful towards Minji, the things she said also caught his attention.

''Making move' , 'promise' what is she even talking about?'

What he did register in his mind was 'after becoming my boyfriend'.

As after becoming Minji's boyfriend, Mingyu did feel the difference between Wonwoo's treatment towards him. At that time Wonwoo kept distancing himself from Mingyu also he started spending most of his time with Jiwan, now that he thinks about it from what Minji has said just now, it seems like it was due to some kind of promise between them. At that time he was so displeased with the gradual closeness between Wonwoo and Jiwan that he used to feel like he was suffocating everyday.

If he were to add two plus two, like 'after becoming my boyfriend' and 'making move' he was able to figure out a whole picture with some missing parts, just like some missing puzzles.

After he was out of his momentary deep thought he saw that Minji was about to say something again but before she could utter a word he said, "I don't know what you are talking about but I do know that I came to know about my feelings for hyung before going on a date with you. Hyung didn't make any move on me and instead was colder towards me when we both started dating and got into relationship."

Also the thing Mingyu didn't say was that this kind of treatment from Wonwoo actually made him more and more sure about his feelings for Wonwoo at that time.

Minji who was about to speak hasn't expected for Mingyu to speak instead, also what he said shocked Minji and Wonwoo too cause he whipped his head to the side to look at Mingyu so fast that he almost had a whip lash. Minji too felt her words gets struck in her throat and got chocked on her saliva as she started coughing. Both Wonwoo and Minji's eyes were wide when they fully processed Mingyu's words.

"W-w-what are you talking about? You already had feelings for oppa before we started dating?!" Minji said in a sharp voice filled with disbelief.

When Minji asked it like this Mingyu felt perplexed. When he was thinking about the first date he had with her at that time afterwards when Minji blocked him he thought he was being obvious about his feelings towards Wonwoo and he thought Minji has perceived something that's why she did what she did but now seeing her being so surprised it seems like she had no idea at all.

Now who would tell Mingyu that even if she did have some idea about it, it was quickly dispelled due to Mingyu's efforts in apologizing to her. Seeing his earnestness towards her she had thought that she was thinking too much and that Mingyu has really fallen for her.

"No. At that time I thought that Wonwoo hyung is straight and I shouldn't have such feelings for him so...." Mingyu trailed.

But Minji completed his sentence, "... So to distract yourself you used me."

"No! It's not that I used you! I was a bit confused about my feeling too-"

"And you ended up using me to probe your feelings" This time Minji directly cut Mingyu's sentence to add her own. Her this cut slashed like a knife towards Mingyu which ended up wounding him.

Wonwoo was unable to say anything in this back and forth. He doesn't know which side he should speak up for as he can sympathize towards both Mingyu and Minji. The dilemma of sexuality that Mingyu has experienced, he has gone through it too so he knows how it feels but he can also understand how Minji must be feeling or maybe Minji was feeling much more than he could understand.

"I'm sorry Minji, but please try to understand. I didn't do it with a purpose to hurt you." Mingyu said with a miserable look on his face.

Wonwoo shook his head as he thought to himself that many might have brushed these complicated things and would have forgiven others on the account of confusion about their sexuality but as Wonwoo knows Minji's temper he knows what she must be thinking.

And indeed, Mingyu's words didn't cool down Minji a bit but instead served as oil to the burning fire. Minji was boiling with rage as she said.

"Why should I be understanding? Do I owe you anything? Why in the world do you expect everyone to be understanding towards you?! Do you want to try understanding what I'm feeling right now?!! No right?!" Minji screamed towards Mingyu and Mingyu fell silent at her questions.

They both knew. He can't be understanding towards her because if he did and got involved too much into her emotions then he would end up being entangled with her. He already loves Wonwoo, he can't afford to be entangled with anyone nor he wants to.

Minji looked at him with an angry smirk as if saying that she knew it.

"Just you wait Kim Mingyu. I'm not gonna let you off for this!" Minji said this through clenched teeth.

Mingyu replied her back with a small gloomy nod. If he has done something wrong he should also be capable to take responsibility for it and Mingyu was ready for Minji's warth.

Looking at him nodding Minji humped and then her attention went towards Wonwoo. Her eyes softened and she felt that she has wronged Wonwoo. Mingyu's words earlier were like a game changer for Wonwoo and Minji and now it was her turn to feel guilty.

She felt complicated in her heart. Now how could she face Wonwoo! But she has to say to him whatever she wants to say and apologize to him. She can't let the things left unsaid between them. So she gathered her courage and when Wonwoo felt her gaze and looked at her, she said, "Oppa, I want to talk to about something" She averted her gaze and looked at Mingyu first then looked back at Wonwoo again before adding, "Privately"

Wonwoo could see the clear guilt in her eyes and nodded in response.
