Chapter 17 Resentment

"Baby, let's go to watch a movie today! Shall we? *heart*"

The first thing that Mingyu does after getting up in the morning is to drink some water and check his mobile phone for new messages and notifications.

It was a message from Minji.

Mingyu threw away his phone on bed with some laziness and disinterest.

It has been few weeks since their double date with Wonwoo and Jiwan. Since then after few days Mingyu asked Minji out all of a sudden and now they are dating already.

For the people who don't know, they might ask what exactly happened on that double date?

Mingyu doesn't even want to remember the awkwardness. He was already feeling quite embarrassed because of his actions earlier and so he was unusually quiet while both the girls got along quiet quickly. Wonwoo was quite too but still inserted some sentences in between while listening to them.

The three of them seemed to be having fun while on the way to the hotpot restaurant.

It wasn't that Minji and Jiwan didn't try to include Mingyu in their conversation but after getting short replies a few times from him they stopped trying.

Mingyu rubbed his sleepy face with the palm of his hands. He doesn't know why but he still keeps recalling the things that happened in that hotpot restaurant even after this long time.

He had wanted to sit beside Wonwoo - no actually he was subconsciously going to seat beside Wonwoo as he always does but Jiwan stopped him while giggling sweetly and saying, " It's a date we are on so shouldn't the respective dates sit beside each other? "

Mingyu felt speechless for a while and thought that it was indeed the case. So he sat beside Minji while facing Wonwoo. He could feel the broad smile on Minji's face without even looking at her.

While ordering everyone was placing their order of the ingredients they want when Mingyu suddenly raised an objection to one of the ingredient.

"Hyung, no. mushrooms."

Wonwoo raised his eyes from the menu and looked at Mingyu pitifully without saying a word.

Minji's smile suddenly dropped too and she looked at Mingyu, asking in a confused tone, "Why? Why not include mushrooms? I really like to eat mushrooms and Wonwoo oppa likes them too"

Mingyu too looked at her with a hint of confusion but with more sternness in his gaze.

"Hyung is allergic to mushrooms. You don't know?"

There was a bit dangerous edge to his question towards her.

Minji was stunned silent when she heard this. Wonwoo was allergic to mushrooms. When did this happen? And how come as his cousin sister she don't know about it?

Jiwan who was sitting in front of her didn't knew that too. Even after being friends with Wonwoo for a long time now she didn't knew about this.

"Hey, Mingyu this is not Minji's fault that she don't know. It's just I haven't really mentioned about it to anyone."

Wonwoo said while lowering his head in embarrassment. He is actually a type of person who doesn't mention things about himself if not necessary.

As he doesn't have meals with Minji and her family often and also because his allergy was very recently discovered only his friends knew about it because he spends most of his time with them.

He has also been consciously avoiding eating mushrooms these days so he didn't feel the need to tell about his allergy to anyone.

It's just when looking at the menu a while ago and seeing the word enoki mushroom, shiitake mushroom etc he felt really tempted and couldn't help but keep quite when he heard Minji order some. He had planned to sneak a few bites but didn't expect that Mingyu would see through him and make his plans go in drain.

He felt a bit sad.

Mingyu felt more and more angry when he thought about how Jiwan and even Minji didn't knew about Wonwoo's allergy.

He couldn't help but scold a little "Hyung, this is not good. You should tell people about things like allergies. If I wasn't here eating with you, you would have eaten it right?!"

Wonwoo sat back like a deflated balloon with a guilty and sad look. He felt wronged! Was it a crime to want to eat your favorite food?

He just mumbled "I know, I know, I won't do this again"

By the time Minji and Jiwan came to their senses too and also scolded him a bit but comforted and advised him softly in majority of their scolding.

Mingyu looked at Wonwoo who looked like a rain drenched sad cat and the other two who were comforting him as if petting the cat to give comfort and he felt a bit regretful.

Was he too harsh just now?

After that the whole time Mingyu kept boiling and serving the meat to Wonwoo as if apologizing him for scolding him earlier. He was so busy that he didn't notice Minji who was sitting beside him was looking forward to something since he started boiling the meat in hotpot.

As a pretty girl, she has always received special treatments from everyone, especially from boys.

It wasn't her first time eating a meal with a boy. Actually she had eaten with boys many times, with friends and boyfriends and everytime the boys around her has been considerate about her.

It wasn't actually only about her but boys are most of the time considerate about girls. So it was a given right? For her to wait for Mingyu, her date, to serve her some boiled meat.

But why? Since start, is Mingyu serving meat only to Wonwoo?

Even Wonwoo shared some of the boiled meat with Jiwan then why Mingyu hadn't yet taken a notice that she was still waiting for him to serve her too.

Okay let's not mention being considerate. Just the fact that she was his date should be enough for Mingyu to focus on her but that's not it.

Why is it always Wonwoo oppa?

Minji glanced at Wonwoo and took her chopsticks to boil some meat for herself and also helped herself with some dumplings and vegetables for the time being.

Wonwoo and Mingyu were busy eating as Mingyu subconsciously kept giving Wonwoo some meat and green vegetables while also eating some himself.

Mingyu at present combed his hand through his hairs and felt a bit bitter thinking about that day.

He didn't notice Minji's resentful gaze that day but the next day he did realise her resentment when she stopped chatting with him after the date and suddenly he found himself blocked by her.
