-Next Day, Saturday – Great Hall-

It was morning and I was sitting at the Ravenclaw table eating my breakfast while listening to my classmates talk.

Some were talking excitedly about the upcoming Yule Ball, excited at the prospect of attending a ball at Hogwarts.

And the remaining students were talking about Nick's Alchemy class and Penny's Enchantments and Wards classes, saying how excited they were for today's classes.

And looking to the side I saw that my friends were also among these students, with the boys who were sitting next to me talking about the ball and who they were going to invite.

"Dude, I'm telling you, Shirley, that Gryffindor girl, has a crush on me." Stephen said, whispering to the boys.

"Shirley from Gryffindor? The one who is in sixth year? The tall girl, who has big black hair, and has incredible thighs?" Terry asked with a look that said he obviously didn't believe Stephen.

"Yeah" the muggleborn boy nodded.

"Man, I think you're daydreaming again" Anthony said.

"I'm telling the truth" Stephen insisted, "Yesterday I passed her in the Charms classroom corridor, and as soon as she saw me she started staring at me."

"Yes, of course" Michael snorted, "She probably stared at you because she thought you were really ugly or something."

"Firstly, ugly is your reflection when you look in the mirror in the morning" Stephen replied, making Michael look at him frowning, "And secondly, the way she was looking at me showed that she was obviously interested in me"

"Okay, let's say that's true, what are you going to do about it?" Terry asked, "Like, if she really has any interest in you, so what?"

"Oh, of course I'll ask her to the ball," Stephen replied confidently.

"Wait, are you going to ask her to ball because YOU think she was staring at you?" Michael asked, looking strangely at his friend.

"Yes, and I'm going to invite her today" he said, nodding to himself with determination.

"You're crazy" Michael shook his head.

"A crazy person who will be the first among us to get a date to the ball" Stephen smiled arrogantly.

"I wouldn't be so sure about that" Terry commented, "I also plan to ask a girl today to be my date to ball"

And next to him Anthony nodded, "Same here, and I'm actually going to ask the girl I want as my date after breakfast."

And when I heard the boys say that they were going to invite some girls today to be their dates for the ball, I looked at them strangely, and then I decided to speak for the first time since the beginning of the conversation.

"Why are you in such a hurry to ask someone to the ball?" I asked, making them stop and look at me, "There's still a week before Christmas, so you still have a lot of time to think about who to invite."

"Hmph, you only say that because it will be easy for you to get a date to ball" Terry snorted, and I looked at him confused.

"Yes, all the girls are dying to be the Hogwarts grand champion's date," Stephen said, crossing his arms as he looked at me with a frown.

"You are exaggerating" I said.

And at this exact moment 2 girls, one with short brown hair and the other a redhead with curly hair, passed behind me, and I recognized them as third-year Hufflepuffs.

"Good morning Night" the one with short brown hair greeted me in a coquettish tone, while her friend winked at me with an attempt at a seductive smile on her face.

"Good morning" I greeted them with a nod.

And when they saw that I responded, the two girls looked at each other and began to laugh softly, leaving while whispering to each other excitedly.

And seeing them leave I resisted the urge to roll my eyes, and turning back to my friends I saw them staring at me with blank faces.

...

...

...

...

"Okay, maybe you guys aren't exaggerating," I sighed, "But that's not so good. These girls are only interested in me because I'm one of the champions of the Tri-Wizard tournament."

"Yes, and?" Terry asked with a bored look, and I looked at him dryly.

"These girls are shallow gold-diggers who like attention... They probably don't know anything about me, and I seriously doubt they want to meet the real Ethan," I said, making a slight face.

"That... might actually be true..." Anthony said slowly.

Stephen and Michael also started thinking about it, realizing that I was somewhat right, but Terry simply shrugged his shoulders.

"I don't see what's bad about that" he said, "We're just looking for some girls to be our ball dates, we're not looking for a girlfriend or a wife" he rolled his eyes.

"And you should be the happiest about that Ethan, since the less girls know you, the less likely they are to run away scared when they see you."

And hearing that my eye started twitching, and I felt a strong desire to spank Terry right then and there.

"And besides we can't forget what the main point here is" the punching bag—I mean, Terry said, "And the point is that Ethan can ask any girl at school to ball and they'll accept, and that It's so unfair!"

"Are you still thinking about it? Seriously?" I asked, with a tired groan.

"Yes, that is very unfair" Anthony said, looking at me as if I were to blame.

"Now I'm seriously regretting the fact that I didn't put my name in the Goblet of Fire," Stephen grumbled, as Michael nodded.

And I shook my head as I realized that everything I said had been ignored by them.

'Why are my friends so stupid?' I sighed.

-After Enchantments and Wards Class-

"So Ethan, Nick and I want to invite you to dinner with us tonight" Penny said, serving me some cookies, "It's been a while since we spent some time alone just the three of us, and we wanted to talk to you"

And she said this with a warm little smile on her face, and I realized that it really had been a while since the three of us sat together to talk or play.

"Well, I accept this invitation" I said, and Penny smiled happily, "But it won't be possible today, since I have some matters to attend to tonight, so it would be better to leave our dinner for tomorrow"

"Matters to attend to?" Penny tilted her head curiously.

"Yes" I nodded, "Today after dinner I'm going to have my first dance lesson with Professor McGonagall, and she's quite strict with her schedule."

"Dance lesson? Ethan, don't you know how to dance?" she asked in surprise, looking at me with slightly wide eyes.

"Why is it so surprising that I don't know how to dance?" I groaned, and Penny laughed lightly.

"It's not that it's something surprising, it's just that dancing is something so simple and easy that it's unexpected that you don't know it" she said.

"Yeah, yeah. Whatever you say" I grumbled.

And seeing my pout, Penny shook her head with an amused look.

"But well, tell me a little about these dance classes with Minerva." she said to me.

And then I started talking about the dance classes, saying when and where they would take place, and what Professor McGonagall would teach me, or at least what I thought she would teach me.

And as soon as I finished speaking, Penny nodded, placing a hand on her chin as she thought.

"Interesting" she said.

Penny then continued thinking for a few seconds, before looking at me, and for some reason her look made me nervous.

"But you know, Ethan dear?" she started talking, looking at me intensely.

"W-What?" I said, swallowing hard.

"If you were worried about the Yule Ball opening dance, then why didn't you ask for my help instead of Minerva?" she asked.

"Oh... Well..." I started to say, looking away, "Actually Professor McGonagall offered to help me."

"Oh…" Penny looked at me with a raised eyebrow.

"She discovered that I didn't know how to dance and insisted that I take private dance lessons with her, and since there was no reason for me to refuse her help, and I didn't want to refuse, I accepted her help." I explained.

And hearing this, my immortal grandmother nodded, understanding the situation better.

And now that his intense gaze on me disappeared I could breathe a sigh of relief.

'Women are the scariest beings there are...' I thought.

And Penny, who didn't know about my thoughts, was now feeling more relieved, happy to know that her grandson hadn't replaced her with another lady.

And she wouldn't deny that she was jealous, and that she wanted to be the one to teach me how to dance.

However, someone else had already offered to help me, and knowing this made her a little upset.

But she was an insistent woman, and so she began to reflect on the information she acquired just now, and then a plan began to form in her mind.

'Well, I said dancing is simple and easy, but that doesn't mean my sweet grandson won't need some extra help learning the art of dancing' she thought, a calculating smile forming on her face.

End.
