EPISODE 9: A Champ Like No Other!*

Jubilife City, at the Pokemon Cafe, Emma, and Detective Looker had a small lunch break together. While Emma drinks her milk tea, Detective Looker reads his newspaper like what he always does. They were waiting for one particular person to arrive.

A woman, tall and slender, approached the detective and his assistant and took a seat beside them. She is a young lady with wavy knee-length creamy blonde hair that has bangs covering her left eye. Her eyes are grey.

She wears straight black leg trousers, a long black coat with a V neck and black fur rimming the cuffs and running down the end of the coat, and a large teardrop-shaped ornament in the center of the coat, probably used as a fastener, she also dons a black top underneath. Her outfit is finished with black kitten heels and a yellow stripe on each shoe.

For accessories, she wore a large, black feathery ruff around her neck with two hair clips in her hair, both resembling two teardrop-shaped object conjoined with a pale yellow stripe.

Cynthia is seen to be a nice person who deeply cares for both Pokémon and her friends that she helps out trainers who look up to her and she would give them tips/facts for their journey.

She is fond of ice cream, and is almost always seen eating one.

Outside of battle, Cynthia can be very air-headed and indecisive; she's even shown to have trouble deciding what type of ice cream to order.

"Good morning detective, I came as fast as I could." Cynthia greeted while eating her vanilla ice cream.

"Ah!" Emma screamed and quickly shook Cynthia's hands. "It's an honor to meet you, "The" champion of Sinnoh! I am a fan of your battling styles, they truly awe me." Emma could no longer handle her excitement, forcing it to erupt and explode. She was blushing, her cheeks were pure red, filled with adrenaline as she continuously shook the champion's hand.

"Oh my, nice to meet you. I never knew you brought a fan, Detective Looker."

"Meet, Emma, she's my assistant for this investigation. Anyway, let's get straight to the topic because it seems like you're quite busy today handling things with the conference. Another Pokemon League is about to commence soon if I am not mistaken."

"The conference is doing great, the date is still being planned. So, Detective Looker, I heard the rumors are true, there is another organization lurking in this region. If I were to recall things, they go by the name, Team Galactic."

"Yes!" Emma interrupted the conversation. Her smile was wide enough to tell Cynthia how pleased she was to meet her. In response, Cynthia smiled back at Emma.

"Team Galactic. Unlike other organizations out there, their goal is not limited to this world but throughout the legend of creation, the origin and the advent of the universe." the detective spilled the beans while showing Cynthia the newspaper of grunts having blue hair and wearing some sort of spacesuit. Aside from this, their pupils are blue.

"The origin of the universe? Sigh, it has been a long time since I last heard about that legend. From the void of twilight to the birth of Arceus, pardon me, I can't remember the legend quite well anymore. Hmm, I'll go back to my hometown to read more about it later."

"Celestic Town! That's your hometown right Ms.Cynthia? I heard there were ruins there too."

"That is right, Emma. Looks like you've been researching a lot about it."

"Of course! You're the strongest trainer ever."

Cynthia was put to a chuckle after hearing Emma's words. "So, is that what they call me? The strongest trainer? I believe out there, someone else is stronger for there will always be someone better than us."

"Ah!" Emma screamed again, taking her note pad and listing the words spoken by the champion herself. Emma is usually timid and quiet except for times when she meets the people she adores the most.

"Back to the topic, the Pokemon International Police is after these freaks and I want you to help me catch them, Cynthia."

"Catch Team Galactic grunts? So I'm taking your job now?" she teased.

"No, well you're the champion so-"

"I see. All I have to do is to track down these grunts, find more about this organization, and take them down? Sounds more like your job if you were to ask me."

"Well, Detective Looker is quite busy as he handles not only the Sinnoh Region but other regions as well."

"Hmm, I'll consider that. Alright, Detective Looker, count me in." after hearing Emma's explanation, Cynthia thought for a moment or two and finally came up with a decision.

"Great. Thank you for your help, I knew I can count on the champion of Sinnoh to take this task."

"A champion's duty is to protect the citizens of her region. You've got it, detective." Cynthia and Looker shook hands while Emma kept on taking pictures of the great champion.

"I'm excited! I can't wait to work alongside you, Ms.Cynthia." she beamed with exuberance.

"It will be a pleasure and an honor of mine to work with you too. I'm looking forward to learning more about you. The Pokemon League will come after the next winter so, I'll have enough time to work for you."

And for the rest of the day, Cynthia stayed with Emma and Looker. A champion like her does not let her die-hard fans go without a little surprise. One by one, Cynthia showed her Pokemon to Emma and she was awed by all of them. The classic Garchomp, the elegant Roserade, the glimmering Togekiss, and the apparition of wombs, Spirit-tomb.

A new organization dwells in the region, it is up to Detective Looker, Cynthia, and Emma to crack the case while Jenny hides herself in the shadows of Jubilife City, on a lookout for more suspects and of course, my name is written at the very top of her watch list.
