He might not be so bad

The last day, they began to park up their tents. Their bus would be arriving soon.

No doubt camping was not bad. They were fishing, they were hiking, they told stories, shared experiences, rode on boats. Kristine had thought they'd involved ants, cocroaches and instects but it had been better than that. Maybe Bella should have not told the camp guide/instructor to remove those things from schedule because of her? Maybe not.

Or Lewis carefully intentionally omitted those things. But he didn't know what she didn't like or did Bell tell him?

She didn't know what to think.

She looked at the campers gathering their things. Her things were already set for her to leave. She looked round. It was a short time but it was well spent. She took a three-day break to herself. She felt relaxed and ready to continue work.

She saw Lewis standing at the edge of the mountain his back to them.

Yes, he was attractive, yes, he was fun, friendly, sociable and Bella tugged her hand: a Bachelor!

She rolled her eyes as she held the rope dangling from her bagpack and she looking left and right with her leg rooted to the ground.

She was not looking for a boyfriend, she was not looking for a man friend. She was going to remain by herself.

And become single forever?

Well, for now. She was not interested in any guy. She just wanted to live and discover herself for whom she was with no guy in her life.

She looked at him standing there with his hands in his pockets.

She walked to where he stood.

She, Bella and Richard had come camping but only Bella and Richard made friends with other couples and gave excuses for her whenever they asked why Bella's sister was not talking. Bella would just change the topic and say she wasn't much of a talker.

She haven't come here to make friends and she didn't think she was in the mood to associate with the people who stayed here either.

Not even the fine camp instructor?

Her head did not listen.

"Hi." She said when she reached him.

He turned to her, smiled as he removed his hands from his pockets.

"Hi."

"Enjoying the view?" She asked trying to make a conversation.

She stood behind him away from the edge he was standing

He turned to look at her and he nod his head and put his hands back into his pockets and looked at the clear sky, mountains and green fields.

"Yeah, It is peaceful and beautiful."

"Nature is peaceful and beautiful." She said expressionlessly before she could stop herself.

He stopped when he thought he read a meaning in the words she said. Like?

"You don't like nature?" He looked at her finding that hard to believe.

She shrugged. "Everyone loves nature....the trees, spending the night outside. It can be fun." She made a cranky sound that made him turn to look at her.

"Not your own kind of fun."

She looked at him and shrugged again.

"Come on, Kristine."

She looked at his face then.

He remembered her name. No one remembers her name after she told them the first time and beside he never really spoke to her, they never had time to talk. How could he remember her name. Gerald didn't remember her name when they were introduced the first time and then the second time he asked her for her name again like they haven't spoken before.

But....

He remembered her name.

Kristine stopped jubliating in her heart. She paid attention to what Lewis who was standing in front of her was saying.

"What kind of fun do you enjoy?" He queried.

She raised her brows. When did it turn personal? Why would he want to know about someone he was probably never going to see after today.

"I....." She hesitated.

Lewis smiled at her as he removed his hands from his pockets.

"I am not a serial killer, who is going to use your information to hurt you. I just want to know an amazing person like Kristine. Even though it is just for a short while."

Her heart pumped slowly. She blinked at him.

He had amazing choice of words to say to a lady that could make her fall slowly for him.

She shake her head left and right with a funny look on her face which made him smile before she stopped and looked right in his eyes.

"I don't know."

"Come on.....one thing." He insisted.

She chuckled as her cheeks curved to form a gimple. "I honestly don't know."

He looked at her for a second and then two.

"Kristine, Can I show you something?"

She looked back at the people packing their things. They were all waiting for the bus. She looked back at Lewis. Maybe she could spare a few minutes.

She nod her head. "Sure."

He nodded and began walking the opposite direction of where they camped, gesturing for her to follow him.

She didn't asked him where he was taking her because she was sure he wouldn't want to be arrested for hijacking a passenger or for being an accomplice to those other people he took her to. But he didn't look like a bad person, who would kidnap her and say it happened completely with her permission.

They didn't walk for so long.

They stopped in the woods surrounded by trees. She thought he was going to stop there but he didn't. He continued walking ahead. Kristine looked back, she couldn't see the campers but she could hear their voices.

She was sure Lewis knew they were leaving soon. So she should not worry much.

She followed him closely.

She kept looking at the ground, carefully stepping on places where there wasn't any bushes or stones. She had brought only sandals, she didn't have boots, not like she needed it for anything.

She bumped into him and he turned quickly and held her by the shoulders to stop her from falling.

Kristine looked at him for a minute and just quickly as it came, it died when he removed his hands from her shoulders.

Touch was one thing that causes attraction. She had noticed. Gerald had touched her hands, touched her shoulders, touch her face and it felt so easy to crush and dream about having something with him but with Lewis....

She couldn't quite explain how she felt exactly.

He was good looking, a great talker, a good listener, a nice guy in summary.

Well, guys pretend to be nice guys and break a girl's heart.

Why does she keep getting attracted to them? Where was Bella to shake her back to reality?
