Fate in Denial c72

January 9

"Of course, Atalante, do what you must. I am simply here to do my part as Master." Ren motioned to his lioness to calm down.

"I see. In that case, you have my thanks." Even though she thanked him, she was suspicious. She is still annoyed by his arbitrary summon before this.

"It appears we will be able to finish our duel, Chiron." The Huntress said with a barely hidden happiness.

"It appears so. Very well." He took a martial arts stance. This stance made Atalante slightly stiff. She does know some basic hand-to-hand, but this is the guy who mastered this art.

She won't last against him.

'The moment I am in danger, I know he will intervene. I can't allow that to happen. I have no doubt his other Servants defeated their opponents without help!' Atalante pondered on her Master's behaviour for a bit.

Without wasting more time, Archer of Red released a salvo of arrows; Chiron used a few remaining trees as cover before he got close to Atalante.

Before he can get close, the huntress proceeds to run away.

'Right, her myth of foot race.' The Sage swiftly realised why she was this fast. Her speed was beyond simply fast!

As Atalante got her distance, she proceeded to shoot mid-air.

Chiron was able to dodge, but then the arrows got faster.

*Tsk*

"Divine Construct. Your arrows can get faster!?" The blonde centaur-turned-human exclaimed as he pulled an arrow from his shoulder.

"Indeed. Now let me get those other limbs~."

*Snort*

"You can try. But it won't be that easy."

'I need to take more of their time. The longer I survive here, the more chance my Master will have to escape.'

However, at that moment, the castle in the background shook.

Something proceeded to walk out. It was enormous.

"Is that a Golem!?" Saber exclaimed with shock.

"Yeah, and it's as ugly as it gets." Saber Alter said with a scoff.

"Master! Let me destroy it! Alter already killed that vampire! Let me finish this one!" The King of Knight almost grabbed her Master's hand and started to pull his sleeve.

"If this is what you want." Ren patted her head. His action caused her to blush from embarrassment. She realised what she was doing.

She moved her hand swiftly away.

"Come now. My Artoria is just the cutest~" He teased her for a second.

"...Yes…"

"Then go. I will watch what my Archer is doing." The Sorcerer said with a knowing look. His gaze went to Chiron. He knows what this Servant is doing.

The Archer of Black is wasting their time so that his Master could potentially escape.

Not that this matters in any way to him. He looked towards Trifas.

He could see Melusine dragging Shirou Kotomine like a sack of potatoes.

With that fool captured, the timeline is secure, and Ren can get his award and return to his timeline.

"On it!"

The King of Knights jumped towards the castle.

"...That was just adorable, don't you think?" He asked his Alter Servant, who scoffed and looked away. There was a slight blush on her cheeks. She realised that he wanted something similar! There is no way she will do anything like that!

"Should I go with her?" Jeanne asked with some worry. That titan thing is enormous.

"No, it's okay. Artoria has Excalibur. With Gaia on our side, that sword is several times more powerful than it should be." Ren's words helped her calm down a little bit.

~~~
"Huh!? What the fuck is that thing!" Mordred exclaimed as she saw the giant monstrosity rise from a lake!?
"They had that thing in the basement!? Oi! Saber of Black, what is that thing!" The Saber of Red asked with some concern.
However, the white-haired Saber's reaction tells her something different. From the looks of it, the Saber didn't know much.
"What!? Did Caster finish that thing? But the core!? What did he use for it!?" The fat Master of Saber was confused by this as well.
"...Just great, we have more freaks to deal with." The Necromancer mumbled to himself.
He then noticed something rushing towards them from the exact spot where the giant thing came out from.
"Shit! Saber! We have company!"
"Huh?"
Mordred looked to the side as she saw someone rushing towards them!
It was a pure mountain of muscles running towards them!
"...A Servant? The Black faction has more Servants!?" The Knight of Treachery made out that it was a Servant but a strange one.
"No… it's one of ours!"
Necromancer looked at the fat blonde man; seeing him smirking made him realise that this Servant was brainwashed.
"Saber, now it's our chance! The moment that Berserker engages Saber of Red, use all of your might to defeat her!"
"Understood."
A few seconds later, with a crazed laugh, the Berserker of Red, Spartacus, engaged in a fight against Mordred.
"All oppressors have to die! You are an oppressor, are you not!?" With a crazed grin, Spartacus proceeded to swing his sword wildly.
*Tsk!*
"Buzz off, you lunatic! You are interfering with my fight!"
Red lightning crackled as she swung her blade, stabbing the Berserker in the gut.
'This Berserker is a weakling!'
But then she saw his muscles start to inflate as if it takes in the damage. Now she can't remove her sword!
"Huh!? Oi! Give me back my sword!"
Before she could do that, a large blade came for her head.
She sidestepped to dodge.
"Hey! Let me get my sword back! THEN we can continue our fight!" Mordred complained as she needed to dodge all of Siegfried's swings.
"Sorry, I have my orders."
"...right…"
Mordred got increasingly annoyed; without her sword, she couldn't do a thing.
Well, she has her fists. But that's just that.
Then a blur slammed into the crazy Berserker.
*OOF*
Berserker of Red wheezed from pain as this blur punched out Mordred's blade!
'Is that even physically possible!?' The pair of Magus pondered on that. It's not like Berserker is a balloon for weapons to bounce like that.
Second later, they heard the sound of high heels.
"What a disgrace. Red faction, attacking a red faction member? That looks like treason to me."
'What is she saying!? Her Servant attacked Rider of Red! What is with this hypocrisy!?' The blonde fat man complained internally.
Not that he would say it out loud.
"M-Mot—" Before Mordred could finish her sentence, the sky rumbled.
That sound made her shut her mouth.
"Melusine, finish that Berserker; we no longer need him."
"As you wish."
The dragon girl lunged at the Gladiator and proceeded to pummel him. It was hilarious how different their sizes were and how overwhelmingly stronger Lancer was.
"T-Thanks for the help!" Mordred tried to be courteous.
Morgan gazed at her for a moment before looking away towards the forest.
The Knight of Treachery realised that Morgan had ignored her!
'W-Why you!'
"Finish him off first; we won't stay long in this timeline. You might not be able to get that rematch with Red Dragon if you are this slow."
Mordred eyes widened as she clenched her sword.
"Then I have to end this quickly!" With a roar, Saber of Red lunged at Siegfried. The Saber, with a massive sword, proceeded to duel.
Morgan smirked, seeing that. Now, she wonders if Mordred will be able to win. The Fairy Queen knows Mordred's weapons can't truly hurt the Dragonslayer.
Melusine had already told the Witch Queen what she was sensing from that white-haired man.
The question is, will the rebellious knight figure out how to beat him?
~~~

'What is this thing!? It's getting bigger and bigger!' Saber looked at the massive thing slowly leaving the water.

Seconds later, Morgan appeared next to her.

"What an ugly sight."

"What is that thing!?" Artoria ignored her sister's counterpart's words and asked instead.

"A nature-based golem. By nature, Gaia accepts such a creation as this thing is rebuilding nature."

"...Okay! But we need to destroy it!"

"That goes without saying."

"You can't stop my Adam! With him awakened, I will create my paradise!"

Morgan, with a deadpan look, gazed at the tiny man standing on the golem's shoulder.

"For a feeble man, you sure talk big."

The Dark Witch motioned with her hand as Rhongomyniad rose under the golem's feet.

'Sweet God, the size of that thing!' The King of Knights had a chill going down her spine. The greenish-blue pillar was even bigger than the golem.

"Impossible! The sheer size!" The Caster standing on Golem's shoulder exclaimed with disbelief. Now that the golem's feet don't touch the ground, it can't grow!

Not that this was on the mind of Avicebron, the famous Kabbalah user, as he looked at the sheer power this witch wields.

"Impressed, aren't you? You are not the only one who spends a lifetime trying to master a craft." The Witch snorted before looking at Artoria.

"Now you can use your sword. If that thing were standing on the ground, your sword wouldn't have been that effective."

"Right!"

Artoria swiftly made the wind hiding her blade disappear, revealing the golden blade. The King of Knights lifted the sword, and golden particles gathered into the blade.

Morgan looked at the sword with perplexion.

It reminded her of the past—the mission the fairies had in her timeline, which they failed to do.

That was the blade they were supposed to craft.

For a second, she sighed before brushing it aside.

Seeing that Artoria is building up her energy, the Caster of Black tries to make Golem move. But Morgan made the pillar move out of sheer amusement to see this thing fumble like an idiot.

Eventually, the charge was done, and the King of Knights took her stance and swung her blade.

"EX—CALIBUR!"

Golden beam slammed into the golem, erasing it alongside the Caster.

"Not bad at all. It appears the blade's power is greater thanks to our link with Gaia." Morgan commented casually.

Before Artoria could answer, another explosion happened not far from them.

"Hmm?"

"That traitor had something up his sleeve?" The Fairy Queen commented as she looked to the side.

The pair witnessed Melusine dusting herself off.

"That thing just went and self-destructed. Something about oppression. He made no sense." Dragon Girl casually commented as she walked over.

"Well, it doesn't matter, we are almost done. We should acquire the Greater Grail now." Morgan looked towards the castle.

"We won't be waiting for Master?" Artoria asked with a confused look.

"Doesn't it matter? I want to explore the castle."

The King of Knights snorted internally when she heard that. Of course, that's what she wants.

"If this is what Her Majesty wishes." Melusine didn't question. She simply agreed.

"Fine." The blonde casually agreed. It's better than just standing and watching two archers trying to kill each other.

~~~
A few pieces of boulders moved aside as a man looking in his middle ages left his hiding hole.
"This was a close call. Who would have thought someone could drop a pillar from the sky?
These witches are terrible for writers such as I." The man dusted himself off. He looked around for a bit.
"Where is it? Hmm—"
After moving several boulders, he picked up a book and cleaned it off.
"Aha! There it is! Now where is the quill?" Once again, he looked around at the rubble, which used to be the Flying Fortress.
However, he didn't find anything.
"Oh, well."
The writer then pulled out a new one— from somewhere.
"Where was I? Ah, yes, the war of two witches—"
The man dressed in nobleman clothes stretched out his hands as he pondered on the angle of this story.
"I should check the battlefield for more inspiration!" He offered for a second before snapping his fingers.
"Once again, Shakespeare shall create a Masterpiece!" After proclaiming his goal, he started to walk towards the Castle.
~~~

"I am so bored! I am a goddamn Goddess! Why do I have to stay at home like this? That's just not fair!"

Ereshkigal stomped her feet for a second; it had been several hours since everyone left except for her and Gray.

"Teacher, where are you?"

The girl's voice made Ereshkigal forget about all the anger as she swiftly walked over to the girl's side.
