After they finished defeating the monsters, they gonna start to continue walking back to the city, but before they could start walking, suddenly there was another voice that stopped them.

"Why, hello! I see you've been quite bubbly in my absence..."

"Ah come on! This is the third time we've stopped before reaching the city," Vyrn looked annoyed because they kept stopping since earlier.

They all turned to the direction of the voice that stopped them.

They saw that Sturm and Drang were back to stop them.

"You again!" Djeeta looked tired because they hadn't reached the city yet.

"Hey, why do you look so upset? This is only the second time we've met," Drang said confused about their reaction while tilting his head.

"Hahhh... this is the third time we've stopped before reaching the city so forgive us if we're a bit annoyed," Rei answered Drang's question.

"Hahaha... sorry, sorry, but this is somewhat important you know, and besides... Owh!" Drang wanted to say something but stopped because Sturm interrupted him by stabbing him.

"We're here to make a trade... for this man's life," Sturm cut in wanting to finish everything quickly.

"Hey, let me go!" a voice was heard approaching them.

They all saw Rackam being held by two soldiers so he wouldn't escape.

"Rackam!" Lyria looked worried about Rackam's situation.

"Hey, Rackam, what happened to you!?" Vyrn also worried about his situation.

"Wait a minute... don't tell me!?" Djeeta remembered what Rei had said earlier.

"He was caught red-handed, trying to attack us!" Sturm answered Djeeta's question.

Hearing that, Djeeta and the others looked at Rackam with a flat look as if saying "we told you so."

"Oh, shut it already...," Rackam looked embarrassed because his plan had completely failed.

"Let's cut to the chase, hm? We'll give you a minnow of an airship and you swim, swim, swim away from this island! Okay?" Drang tried to offer a choice to Djeeta and the others.

"So how about it, Djeeta? Will you accept it or not?" Rei asked Djeeta, but he already knew what her answer would be, so Rei was preparing himself.

Djeeta, upon hearing Rei's question, smiled and immediately replied, "Of course not! We will save the people of this town and drive the empire soldiers away from this island."

Lyria and the others who heard this also smiled because they knew their captain would not ignore the suffering of others.

"Oh, deary me! And yet more foolish lives are lost..." Drang shook his head after hearing their response.

After saying that, Drang released red and blue balls, while Sturm began using her two swords.

Djeeta, Katalina, and Rei started preparing their weapons as well, but when Rei saw the condition of his weapon and he knew it wouldn't last long.

'I have to finish this quickly' Rei closed his eyes and concentrated on using his aura, but this time he flowed his aura throughout his body instead of focusing on his weapon.

Black aura started coming out of Rei.

"Fuhhhh look at him, seems like there's more to him than just his handsome face," Drang was slightly surprised feeling his aura.

"Owh!"

"Quiet, Drang! It seems this won't be as easy as I thought" Sturm stabbed Drang because he kept talking.

Sturm began advancing to attack, but Djeeta and Katalina managed to hold her back while Drang was using a spell behind Sturm.

The red ball that Drang held started releasing a larger fire, Rei seeing this tried to attack and stop him while Djeeta and Katalina diverted Sturm's attention.

Drang, seeing Rei about to attack him, smiled and threw his fire at him. Rei dodged it by jumping to aside, but suddenly he saw water coming to attack him after he avoided it.

Rei continued to avoid attack after attack from Drang, but he found it difficult to get close to him. "Hey, if you can't get close to me, you won't be able to win, you know," Drang joked with Rei.

"You! This is the first time I've fought against this type, besides I've only practiced fighting against close-range enemies," Rei shouted at Drang as he was a bit frustrated that their fight hadn't progressed at all.

"Hahaha well then this will be your first experience fighting against an opponent like this."

"Why isn't Drang just defeat him already..." Sturm saw that Drang was still playing around with Rei as usual like when he fought against others.

"Hah!? Don't underestimate Rei, he's strong, you know!" Djeeta was annoyed because she seemed to imply that Drang could defeat Rei anytime.

Sturm, hearing Djeeta's words turned towards her, "I know he's strong from the aura we feel, but he can't use it properly at all, and he just relies on pure strength without technique."

"*Sigh* yes, you're not wrong, besides, Rei is still a beginner in fighting, he has only been using a sword for a month," Katalina replied to Sturm while looking at Rei still dodging Drang's attacks.

"A month? I didn't expect he had only been practicing with a sword for a short time," Sturm was surprised to hear the information from Katalina.

"Hey, Katalina, what are you doing? Why did you tell that information to the enemy?" Vyrn yelled at Katalina.

Before Katalina could answer Vyrn, they started feeling Rei's aura getting stronger, and they turned to Rei and Drang.

"Wow, look at that, your aura is getting stronger," Drang saw Rei's aura getting thicker and denser.

"If I can't get close, I'll finish it from afar," The aura Rei released started flowing into his sword.

*Crack* *Crack* Rei's sword was getting more crack, and if he keep doing that his sword could break.

Rei's sword was enveloped in black aura and grew larger. Sturm, seeing this, grew concerned with Drang as she felt that if they were caught in the attack, they could be seriously injured or even killed.

"Hey, Drang, you better avoid that attack, do you hear me?" Sturm yelled at Drang.

"Sturm!? Are you worried about me? I never would have thought you could worry about me?!" Drang jokingly pretended to be touched by Sturm's words.

Sturm, hearing this, was immediately annoyed and wanted to stab him again, but suddenly Rei moved his sword to the left and attempted to use a horizontal slash.

'After the first horizontal slash, I will try to get closer to end this fight.' His sword's aura grew larger, and Rei's sword began to look like a laser.

"Hyaaahhhh" Rei slashed his sword, and black aura began to emerge and move quickly towards Drang.

Drang, seeing Rei's attack coming towards him, initially wanted to dodge easily by ducking, but he noticed that Rei's Aura was destroying the ground as it passed through. So he chose to use water from his blue ball to help propel himself from the spot to avoid it. "Haaappppp...."

But as he dodged, Rei was already preparing his next attack.

"Axion."

Rei was unaware he uttered those words, and the laser began to emit again from his sword, but unlike the previous attack, this laser appeared stronger and thicker.

The laser moved towards Drang, who was still in the air, and wouldn't have time to use his water to dodge, so he used his fire to try and counter the attack.

*shing* Rei's laser clashed with Drang's red ball.

*Crack* *crack* Drang heard his ball starting to crack and would break if this continued.

Sturm, seeing Drang like that started to get worried and tried to stop Rei's attack by trying to attack him. However, Djeeta and Katalina intervened to prevent Sturm from interfering with Rei.

*Prang* a sound of something breaking was heard, and Rei's laser attack stopped just before Drang's red ball shattered.

Rei fell after losing his balance when the laser he released suddenly disappeared, and his sword shattered.

"Rei!" Lyria and Vyrn shouted towards Rei, worried about him.

Drang, who landed after trying to counter Rei's attack, also fell.

"Hah... hah... hah, that was a close call," Drang appeared sweaty and out of breath.

Rei then stood up and observed Drang still on the ground. "looks like I won this one."

Drang, hearing this, could only shake his head. "Yes, yes, you won. I'm exhausted. If your sword hadn't broken, I could have died."

"You!?" Sturm ran towards Drang after her battle with Djeeta and Katalina.

Rei, seeing Sturm approaching Drang, then turned towards Djeeta and Katalina and felt relieved to see they were unharmed, only sweaty.

"I told you to get used to finishing your fights quickly! But you always play around with your opponents," Sturm stabbed Drang repeatedly.

"Owh... Owh... Owh, Sturm, stop stabbing me, I'm still very tired," Drang winced as Sturm continued to stab him.

Djeeta and the others approached Rei to check on him, feeling relieved to see that Rei was unharmed.

"This is bad, guys. I don't see Rackam anywhere!" Vyrn suddenly spoke up, noticing that Rackam had disappeared.

Upon hearing Vyrn's words, they all looked towards where Rackam had been, realizing that he had vanished.

"He'll be fine. He's been taken away by one of our finest units," Sturm replied to Vyrn's inquiry.

"More importantly..."

"Eep!"

Suddenly, a soldier appeared out of nowhere and grabbed Lyria, holding her hostage and he started to walked backward.

"Lyria!" Katalina panicked as she saw Lyria being captured.

"Hey, let go of Lyria! What are you doing?" Vyrn tried to punch the soldier, but oddly, the soldier remained silent.

"Hey, something seems off," Rei sensed a black aura, similar to the Hydra aura he had felt before, emanating from the soldier.

The soldier unsheathed his sword.

Sturm, witnessing this, shouted at that soldier "Hey, what are you doing!? Your task is only to capture one of them and threaten them to leave the island."

"Lyria!" Djeeta yelled to Lyria, who was still struggling in the soldier's grip.

Rei saw the soldier beginning to wield his weapon, as if he intended to harm Lyria, feeling perplexed about what he should do.

Djeeta and Katalina started running towards Lyria, but judging by their speed, they wouldn't reach her in time.

Rei grew even more panicked as he couldn't help Lyria and began to consider that if he had access to all of Lucilius's powers, he could easily aid Djeeta and the others.

"Stop!" "Lyria!" Djeeta and Katalina shouted to Lyria.

The soldier aimed his sword towards Lyria's head.

"Aahhhhh" Lyria screamed as she closed her eyes.

Lyria wondered if her adventure was coming to an end. Before she could see the sights of various islands, would she meet her end here?

She suddenly remembered her experiences, from being experimented on by the Empire, to Katalina reading about different islands in the world, their escape from the Empire's airship, and meeting Djeeta, Rei, and Vyrn.

'At least I can feel what it's feels like to have a adventure like this even if it's just for a moment' crossed Lyria's mind.

'And I haven't asked Katalina about the feelings I have for Rei yet.'

As she closed her eyes, she felt no blow from the soldier at all.

"Hey, Lyria, you can open your eyes now," Lyria recognized the voice she heard and slowly opened her eyes.

She saw herself being princess carry by Rei, and as she gazed into his white hair and blue eyes looking back at her, her chest began to pound faster, and her face felt somewhat warm.

"Rei!? Good job, Rei, you managed to save Lyria." Vyrn shouted to Rei, feeling relieved that Lyria was unharmed.

The soldier, realizing that his target had suddenly disappeared, turned towards Lyria and ran towards her again.

Rei, hearing the sound of the approaching person, turned to face the source and saw the soldier trying to swing his weapon again.

Rei quickly muttered something that only Lyria could hear, as she was near him.

"Sword of Repudiation."

Rei's left hand began to glow, and a golden sword appeared, which he quickly gripped and swung towards the soldier.

"Phosphorous."

The sword struck the soldier, causing a massive explosion that sent everyone flying except for Rei and Lyria.

Rei, witnessing the aftermath, began to think, 'Oh no!... I didn't expect that attack to have such an big effect even without the wings.'

Rei was slightly get carried away as he was excited about being able to use the opus sword after his conversation with Lucilius.

Rei saw Lyria about to be killed, and suddenly felt time slowing down.

"Here we go again..." Rei heard a voice, and suddenly someone appeared in front of him, possessing 12 black wings and a appearance that resembled his own.

"Lucilius..." Rei called out the person's name.

"You mortals always make a mess of everything. If this continues, I start to think that following Phoenix idea might have been a bad idea."

"Phoenix?" Rei was confused by what Lucilius said since as far as he could remember, the Phoenix he see in Granblue Fantasy was phoenix from the first event of granblue fantasy.

"It doesn't matter. I'll help you use more of my power, but with you as you are now, you won't be able to become what I planned for you."

"Planned? Every time we meet, you talk about plans. What do you mean by your plan?" Rei asked about what Lucilius meant by his plan as the last time he saw Lucilius was during the event WMTSB 3.

Lucilius just smiled at that and finally pointed towards Rei, black aura starting to emanate from his hand and going towards Rei.

Rei's instinct was to avoid the black aura, but he couldn't move his body at all. The black aura surrounded Rei's body, and he felt his body being filled with immense power.

"This!?" Rei looked at his body as the black aura began to enter it.

"By doing this at least you can solve this problem, but this is only for this one time. If you force to use my power without being able to manifest wings first, your body will be destroyed. Do you hear me?"

"If you continue like this, I might as well abandon this plan and wait for Belial to return" Lucilius spoke to himself.

Before Rei could respond, Lucilius suddenly disappeared, and time returned to normal.

Rei saw that the soldier was moving again to attack Lyria, but Rei moved quickly to release the soldier's grip and save Lyria.
