FOUR

Tonight was the opening ball at Danbury House. Lillie was escorted in by her three older brothers. More like her three bodyguards as she liked to think of it.

"This is so exciting." Lillie smiled as she watched the scene enfold in front of her. The many stares from every man didn't come unnoticed to the oldest Pendermore. He was not all impressed at anyone who casted the stares at his sister.

"Yes so exciting." Kygo slightly jumped up and down to mock the girl.

Lillie rolled her eyes. "Stop it Brother. You look funny."

"Is it alright with you Brother for me to be excused? Or do you think it is not best for me to go get a drink?" Kygo smirked at Jasper, not even bothering to hear his answer as he walked away.

"Look who is coming your way." Keeton pointed out. The girl looked as she saw a fairly handsome young man walk up to them.

He bowed. "Lord Pendermore. Lady Pendermore. Lord Pendermore."

"Lord Jacoby." Lillie smiled, her brothers on the other hand were not at all impressed.

"Might I add you look exquisitely lovely tonight Miss Pendermore."

"Why thank you. You look lovely as well." Lillie smiled.

"As opposed to other nights?" Keeton asked. He wanted to make sure this guy wasn't with his sister simply for her beauty.

Lord Jacoby swallowed harshly as he was not expecting that question. "No. That is not what I meant I..."

"How is your father doing? Is he still dragging the family name down with his gambling habits?" Jasper asked.

"Oh no he's..."

"Or perhaps is he still doing some illegal business overseas."

"I um..."

"You may take your leave now, Lord Jacoby." Jasper casted the boy a harsh glare.

Lord Jacoby nodded and walked away.

"That was rude and unnecessary." Lillie said.

"Jacobys are a joke." Keeton chuckled as he shook his head. "Cannot get anything right after that scandal they had years past."

"I didn't know that."

"Which is why you have us." Jasper said. "We shall make our rounds now. Come."

And with that the three Pendermores walked around, looking for potential suitors. That was until they ran into someone all too familiar.
