Chapter 8 Cultivator mentality

Daji looked at the newly born baby. He was born safe and sound.

Xiao Ying and Xiao Yue named him Xiao Che. Daji could feel that his life would not be an easy one as fate began to unfold and had a grip on his being.

He should be the owner of the mirror of Samsara and the sky poison pearl. However, Daji had taken them from him.

'The Ancestral Goddess shouldn't make a mistake like this. It could also mean that the two treasures were meant for me or Naruto.'

Daji pondered. If the Ancestral Goddess really wanted to give these two treasures to the baby, even she shouldn't be able to interfere.

Well, she would not make things more complicated. She was just going to use the rules of the martial world.

'I know that these heavenly treasures might belong to him, but I have secured them with my tails first, so they should basically be mine.'

This was a cultivator mentality. The one who held onto the treasures first believed they were rightfully theirs, regardless of who they truly belonged to.

Daji gazed at Naruto. She then gave them to him without him noticing anything. 

She stored them inside the Yang seal that Hogoromo had given to Naruto. She had twisted them a little to her liking. Now, Naruto could use it to keep things like the inventory scroll.

Daji planned to explain to him how to use the mirror of Samsara and the sky poison pearl when he came inside his mindscape.

"Na'er, he will be your little brother from now on. Please take care of him in the future, alright?"

Xiao Yue smiled at Naruto gently. She felt very weak right now. Even though she was a cultivator in the True Profound Realm, giving birth to a baby was still taking a toll on her body.

She came to cherish him like he was her child. He was very cute and very caring. She wanted him to be the big brother who would protect his little brother in the future.

Naruto nodded quickly. He had never been a big brother before. But he felt a sense of responsibility to look after Xiao Che.

"I will take care of him in the future, Yue-san."

Xiao Yue felt sad that Naruto still didn't call her mother. But she understood that it would take time for Naruto to fully accept her as a mother figure. She was happy that he was willing to take on the role of a big brother to Xiao Che.

"You should rest now, my wife. I and Naruto will take care of Che'er for you."

Xiao Che was now sleeping, so Xiao Yue could rest without worry.

Naruto looked at Xiao Che with a smile. He never would have thought that he was going to be a big brother like this.

"Ahem, Na'er, I have something to tell you as well. Che'er might not be your only sibling. My father… He has a daughter without telling me from outside. She is going to be your little aunt. But don't worry about the age and seniority. You can just treat her like a little sister!"

Naruto was confused but accepted it without much thought. The family in this clan was pretty complicated, so it was the best idea to just ignore it.

"I understand."

Xiao Ying felt relieved that Naruto didn't think much about it.

"Come to think of it. My best friend is going to be a father soon as well. I should go and check on him. Do you want to come with me, Naruto?"

Since he appeared here and was rescued by Xiao Yue. 

Don't mention the outside of the clan, he had never even gone outside the area of the house before.

"Can I really go outside with you? I want to see what it looks like outside."

Xiao Ying liked to see his happy expression. Naruto, even though he had accepted them to be a part of his life, there was always a part that he kept to himself.

It was always good to see that he slowly came out of his shell and was truly happy.
