Chapter 2 - My New Identity

Silent. Peaceful. I've been staring at the moon for no reason at all because of boredom. It's still pretty much late at night but I'm not sleepy at all.

Then, I might as well do some investigation. I have so many questions regarding my status window.

First of all, what's with my skills, they have some noble titles like Duke, Count and such. I wonder what these could be?

"Response. Skills are characterized as [Common], [Extra], [Unique], and [Ultimate], but all Skills lower than Ultimate have noble titles signifying their level, power, and rarity. The lowest to Highest titles are [Knight], [Baron], [Viscount], [Count], [Earl], [Marquis], and [Duke]."

"The Higher position signifies higher rarity, higher power, and higher level. Ultimate Skills however are ranked from lowest to highest: [Lord], [King], and [God]. There are special skills such as Intrinsic Skills that are specific for each race, resistances, skills that acquired the title [Archduke], and Ultimate Skills that have no title."

Hmm, I think I get it. Mostly.

Since I know a lot about Skills from that Slime Isekai, it was pretty easy to understand some of them, however, I have never heard about Skills having noble titles. Maybe this is how this world incorporates leveling of skills that is not in the form of numbers?

I mean, skills and abilities in RPGs typically have a leveling system as well as having a player level, but in this world, it uses Noble Titles for Skills under Ultimate Skills and Alphabetical rankings for any creatures in this world based on how strong and dangerous they are.

That's interesting. This was very original as far as I'm concerned since I have never heard of using noble titles as rankings for skills and stuff.

Plus, it also serves as a rarity system as well? Well then, I must be lucky to have two [Duke] Class Unique Skills. Then again, it seems that one of them is part of the Sins Series while the other is part of the Virtue Series, right?

I'm pretty sure [Wrath] is one of the seven sins, and [Knowledge] is the skill that is one of the original skills in the seven virtues. In that slime isekai, it was replaced or was substituted by [Wisdom King: Raphael] since R*muru got a modified version of the original one.

"Negative. The assumption of these Skills being part of a Series is true. Being [Wrath] part of the [Sin Series] and [Knowledge] being part of the [Virtue Series]. However, the series called [Virtue Series] does not have 7 skills but 10. In addition to that, it is more known as the [Commandment Series] rather than the [Virtue Series]."

"These two Skills are part of the larger Series called the [21 Mythical Skills]. The [21 Mythical Skills Series] are comprised of three smaller series, which are the [Sins Series], [Virtues or Commandments Series], and the [Judgement Series]. In addition to that, the [Sins Series] are also part of the [Demon Series], [Commandment Series] being part of the [Angel Series], and [Judgement Series] also being part of the [Null Series]."

10? Not 7? Well, that's interesting. The slime isekai only has 7 Virtues, which are the four Cardinal Virtues and the three Theological virtues, but it seems that it has changed to 10 virtues or rather the 10 Commandments. Does that mean that the skills are based on or somewhat analogous to the 10 Commandments found in the bible?

Wait, how is Knowledge part of the 10 Commandments? I'm pretty sure it is not one of the 10 Commandments but whatever. Still, getting the news that these 2 Series are part of a Larger Series is crazy. I know that the [Sin Series] and the [Virtue Series] are part of a larger series of their own, but to also be part of another series that has both of them is nuts! Wait, is it allowed for a series to be part of 2 or more series? Eh, I don't know.

Wait, if the Sins have 7, and the Commandments have 10, doesn't that mean there are 4 more that I don't know of? Are those the Judgement Series then? I can't believe that it can be a Series despite being only 4 of them but they must be on par with the other mythical skills in the [21 Mythical Skills Series] if they are part of it.

I'm not sure what skills it has since it is not from that slime isekai but if I have to guess based on that name and the number of skills it has, it should be related to the four horsemen of the apocalypse, right? I mean that's the only thing that makes sense anyway.

Then I remembered something important. Why did I forget? My skills are supposed to be my traits from my previous world!

May I have the list of all Skills I have that are supposed to be my traits from my previous world?

I had no idea that I have a lot. Are all of these my traits that were converted to Skills? And what does it mean there are more to be unlocked, is this what it meant when the [Voice of the World] said that some skills I can't acquire because there were too many for my Astral Body to handle?

Also, I have another Skill from the [21 Mythical Skills Series], which was [Gluttony]. I mean if I have to guess, the strongest traits I have turned into [Unique Skills] while the others are either [Extra Skills] or [Resistances].

First Wrath. To be honest, I wasn't an angry person in the past but it was certainly dangerous in the rare times I do get seriously angry. I still remember that one time that I almost killed someone because they pissed me off too much.

Knowledge…..is it because I read books a lot? I mean, I was part of the honors list in the recent years of high school so maybe? Though I don't call myself knowledgeable compared to Rin. She was always first in class in terms of scores.

Gluttony, well I can't deny that I was pretty much a big eater and for some unknown reason, I don't gain weight despite eating 10 times the amount of food that normal people eat. I'm pretty sure I could compete with the top eaters in our city.

But where the hell is Sloth? I'm one of the laziest people, yet it isn't here? Maybe it's one of those skills that I need to unlock. If so, then literally the most prominent trait that I have, I can't even use, well that's annoying.

Swordsman, well I guess I did train myself in some different styles of swordsmanship from time to time. It was mostly for fun and because I was such a weeb. I was also nominated as the representative of our city on swordsmanship so maybe that's why I have this unique skill.

Quick-Learner….yeah I think this is my negative trait that got turned positive because there is no way that I was a quick learner. It at least takes me five times more time to learn things than normal, unless it was things that I liked.

Compact storage…it makes sense since I do always organize stuff and carry things compacted for less space. Some of my classmates can't even believe I manage to pack so many things in a small bag.

Most of my Extra Skills were my positive traits except for Enhanced Strength and Stamina because jeez was my body weak in my past life, I'm surprised my body didn't grow any stronger despite all of those exercises and sword training I have done in my life. My kicks though were pretty strong due to how large my leg is. My resistances are pretty much expected since I liked the cold and was used to cold places without any proper clothing.

Hmm, the skills I have gotten were interesting. Wait now that I think about it, don't I have the upgraded version of R*muru's unique skills when he first got reincarnated? I have my version of [Great Sage] which was [Knowledge] and a stronger version of [Predator] which is [Gluttony] were he didn't manage to get until much later after he defeated the Orc disaster. I must be pretty lucky, also having 6 unique skills right after reincarnating is super op considering R*muru only got 2 and that was considered super rare in his world.

I also forgot that I have many hidden skills as well so I might have more unique skills than I thought. I guess I have to get stronger if I want to see my hidden skills.

After drooling over the fact that I had more skills than the protagonist of that slime isekai when he first got reincarnated, I remembered a very important detail in my status window. Oh yeah, how did I forget? My new name!

"Tomo Tsukuyomi," that's quite a nice name if I do say so myself. Pretty cool to have the last name of the God of Moon in Japanese culture too. I wonder how that correlates to my family or abilities. Maybe I will have the affinity of the moon or night type magic.

Though, why the hell is my name Japanese when the style of where I'm living looks like a medieval European fantasy-style place. Also my race, I'm a Demonoid? A pure one at that? What does that mean? Also royal? Eh? Who the hell am I?

"Response. You have reincarnated as the 3rd child of Emperor Ryugin Tsukuyomi and Empress Ellen Alinac, rulers of the Whittaker Empire. You are a pure-blooded Demonoid as your father is a Pure Demonoid as well. Pure Demonoids are either descendants from a union of a Demon and a Human or a Human that has absorbed enough magicules that it modified their body to become Demonoids. Wait, so I am royalty? Plus a Demonoid??? That's, wow, I didn't expect that. I expected to be from a noble lineage but not from an Emperor's bloodline!

Wait, since I'm royalty, does that mean I have to fight for the throne to become the next Emperor? And have to deal with lots of political nonsense? Noooooooooo, I hate anything when it comes to politics, especially in reincarnation ones. Politics and noble sh*t in isekais are always annoying to deal with, especially because of their greed and pride.

Wait, can I even become an adventurer when I am royalty? Ugh, there's so much that is happening. My mind got overloaded with information that I almost fainted.

Ok, I need to calm down. It said that I'm the 3rd child meaning I have older siblings, which means I can just remove my right to the throne so that I can be free, right? Although I never heard of that having a good ending from all I know. Another problem is how the hell can I become an adventurer, considering how fucked up politics are in reincarnation novels, I wonder if I don't have any freedom.

My mind wandered around thinking of ways how I could escape my fate of being royalty until a heavy realization kicked in.

Do I have any memories regarding this person I reincarnated into? No, more importantly, what happened to the soul of the body I'm inhabiting in? I have never considered the original soul of the body to where the mc reincarnates but now did I think about it, what happens to the original soul of the body? Did it die so that a reincarnated person can possess it?

I know of novels where the mc possesses a dead person's body so that it can have another life but what about those who possess a body where its original soul was perfectly normal and fine and was suddenly got possessed by a reincarnate? Does it die? And does that mean that I accidentally, kill the person that I'm inhabiting?

Argh, this hurts my brain. I don't know what to think anymore. My mind went blank for a couple of seconds because of this realization when suddenly, I was informed of my skill about something.

"Negative. Would you like to use one of the main abilities of the sub-skill [Perfect Memory]?"

"Yes or No?"

Perfect Memory? Fine, let's do it, might as well know the truth of what happened.

"Confirmed. Activating [Memory Recollection]."

My head started to hurt as my skill was activating. Memories started to flood my brain. I slowly start to remember everything. From the very start, in my first life, or what I think is my first life, I remembered being a cat and dying because I was curious about what death felt like and willingly let myself get hit by a motorcycle. I can't remember how it felt but I could remember saying it was the most painful thing I had experienced until seconds later forgetting what pain even was.

Then I was in complete darkness and that is how I knew I died. I remembered wishing to live again and before I knew it, I found myself falling from the sky. I think I was sky-diving or was committing suicide, I can't seem to remember. I was falling very fast to an island with a volcano in the middle of it and I was heading straight to it before reaching the lava, I burned up due to intense heat and died.

I then woke up to someplace I was not familiar with and the next thing I knew, I saw doctors or surgeons in front of me, carrying me. The next thing in my memory was hazy but it was in some sort of a house, until finally when I had self-aware, I managed to move my body. I seem to be somewhere around 2-3 years old and saw a woman. I instinctively knew it was my mother despite not having any memory of her and ran towards her as if it was the most normal thing to do. It scared me as my body moved by itself and talked by itself without doing anything but my fears quickly faded away as if I was hypnotized to forget.

I started to remember many things from when I was a child till I was 15 years old. Many nostalgic memories and many memories that shouldn't be revisited and remembered. And then, I died and after what seemed to be an eternity in darkness. I started to see some unfamiliar memories. I saw a handsome man, wearing such fancy clothing. The next thing I saw was a beautiful woman, also wearing fancy clothing. Ah, I see. These are the memories of the original soul of this body.

It seems that this boy was born into such a loving family, despite having parents that are supposed to be the Emperor and Empress, they seemed to act more like a loving parents rather than a ruler of an empire. I then see who seemed to be the older siblings of this boy.

The eldest, seven years older than this boy, who was a rather cute-looking young lady, was proficient and talented in magic having four elemental attributes, and surpassed their mother in magic control at an early age.

The second oldest, older than three years than this boy, a rather young and handsome lad, was addicted and talented in swordsmanship, who at his early age, managed to surpass the empire's commander on swordsmanship alone.

And there were two more siblings, which were younger than this boy.

Another sister, two years younger, was also talented in knowledge and was called a prodigy in this family.

And finally, a younger brother, who was one year younger than the younger sister, was still only two years old, but seemed to resemble their father more than the others and has an aura of a supreme ruler around him whenever you see him.

It was a nice and loving family, all of them were nice and there seemed to be no competition at all in regards to the throne, which was rare, especially in the royal family of an empire. And throughout this entire boy's life, he seemed to be the jack of all trades, master of none but had the most talent out of all of them. And almost every other night, he seemed to dream some interesting things. Ah, he dreamed about my memories. It seems he slowly figured out that these dreams were of a past life and fully accepted it.

I see now, this boy was me all along, I just had no memories of my previous life. My memories slowly returned through dreams. I felt relieved, I didn't kill this boy, this boy was me all along.

After witnessing all these memories, I now know why my eyes were exhausted when I first awoke in this world, it seems that at that time, this boy or should I say me was crying after remembering everything. After finally learning the truth, I cried once again.

Tears flowed rapidly but there was no voice to be heard. Was it because it was the night that I subconsciously made sure that no one will hear my cries right now? Or was it because I was exhausted to the point of no voice coming out of my throat? Either way, I cried for a long time, feeling the pain of every single memory, seeing my experiences, and finally stopped after a while.

After I wiped my eyes, I started to regain my composure and thought. Usually, when I reincarnate, I immediately have my memories since the day that I was born, but this time, I remembered everything after I just turned 5 years old, why?

"Response. It is due to your soul being extremely strong and potent that if you had inherited everything as a baby, your body would have exploded due to not being strong enough to handle it. Therefore, everything was slowly inherited for five years starting with small memories, then skills, and lastly the remaining piece of your soul."

Oh, so my soul was too potent for a newborn huh. Well, I guess that is to be expected if I had 6 Unique Skills and many more from the day that I was born, that would be too much. I guess I'm relieved after hearing that answer.

But it seems that this political nonsense won't do any trouble for me, as from these memories, this Empire doesn't run the same way as I thought, where even the existence of a Crown Prince or Princess seemed to be unneeded. The reason being is that it seems that my mother and father are both long-lived species. They have ruled this empire for at least 500 years and still be fine ruling over it for another 500 years. That's insane, to say the least.

Now the problem is if I can be an adventurer. Sure I won't need to take care of the throne or whatnot but I don't have any memory that tells me that I am free to be an adventurer.

There is also that thing about my mother. It seems that my mother is very overprotective of her children so I wonder if she would accept one of her children becoming adventurers. My father seemed to be laid back, feels like that one dad that just does anything fun for his children, and is very supportive so I think he will be fine.

Well, let's just see what tomorrow brings and find out what to do. Oh right, I have to act like a child right? God, this is gonna be cringy when it happens.
