Past Memories

"Where can I find you "said Alistair, as he looked at that strange book.

(The documents room- Holly High school. )

Alistair bent down to pick up those documents and put them back in the locker .He knew that there's nothing else for him to find out here .

As soon as he picked them up ,he noticed that there was a stinging sensation that he felt when ,he was holding them but earlier he was so shocked that he didn't discover that.

Now that he had calmed down a bit ,he recalled that the book that he picked up also had that stinging electrical notion.

However ,that book was much more electronic than the documents.

"Ring"  , "Ring" a sound was heard.

"Ah ,who is that?" Said Alistair, while escaping out from his thoughts.

It was the ringtone of his phone , making that noise.

Alistair placed his documents on the shelf and looked at the screen to see who was calling.

"Mom," Alistair thought ,as he looked at the screen.

Alistair was surprised and it was written all over his face.

"Why is mom calling now?" Alistair thought ,as he proceeded over to take the call.

"Hello, " Alistair said, picking up the phone. 

"Alistair ,I can't come back home today .You could order something for dinner . " she said, and cut off the call. 

Alistair put down the phone and a bittersweet smile came onto his face accompanied with a light of sadness in his eyes.

"When have you ever come back?" Said Alistair, in a whisper and a sharp pain possessed her heart.

He suddenly remembered that day….

Flashback…

"Mom,mom ." Called Alistair, her mom.

"What?" Said she from the other side of the call.

"Mom,You remember right what day it is today." Said Alistair, in an excited and expecting way.

"Alistair,listen I have work to do. Don't disturb me like this." She Scolded him, and cut off the call.

"Mom ,but ….." ,"beep , beep" Alistair heard .

He then looked at the table ,a cake was placed on the middle of the table. He brought the cake today after his basketball practice. 

"Mom,how could you forget my birthday? " said Alistair. As he said that his voice almost broke down.

A crying sensation came to his throat. It was like he couldn't think of anything. 

He felt like he was the most unlucky and unfortunate person in the world.

He ran away from his house, closing the door .He ran and ran .He had no idea where He was going .

He just knew that he couldn't calm down and it was his fault ,everything was his fault and he was nothing but a burden to everyone. 

"Why was I born?","why did God send such a loser like me to this earth?" he thought all of that and, he could feel that his heart was going to burst.

"Ahhha" he tripped and fell .

"Ha ahhh h" ,he sobbed while lying on the ground.He wailed as much as he could .That was the only thing he knew at that point of time.

"Alistair, what are you doing here?" Somebody said in a worried tone.

Alistair could hear the running footsteps approaching him ,but he was just too tired and too heartbroken to even look at who was coming towards him .

All he knew was that he could just die.

"Alistair,wake up ,what happened?" That tone was now in front of him and he saw that someone sat down and asked while shaking Alistair .

Alistair could see her shadow and he intuitively got up ,hugged her ,and cried as loud as he could .

He had no idea what he was doing but he was desperately searching for comfort; and all he thought at that moment was to hug somebody and cry.

"It's okay ,Alistair .I am here." Said she and patted Alistair's back .

Alistair could feel the warmth of her body and the genuine concern .They hugged like that for some time on the ground .

That girl didn't even move a bit ,as if she knew that Alistair   just needed that comfort and she could hug him for a long time .

After sometime ,When Alistair had calmed down that girl helped him up.

Now Alistair was feeling a lot better and he looked up to see who was that, to help her like that.

He saw a tiny little face with a glowing light in the eyes.He could recognize her face because it was unforgettable. 

"Rose ,you are the new transfer student right." Said Alistair ,in a surprising manner.

He couldn't forget her as he just met her in school yesterday and he also helped her in getting all the books and stuff she needed.

"Yes ,I am but why were you crying like that?" asked Rose in a gentle manner.

Alistair was silent for some time and then suddenly he said.

"Rose,I think it's a fault of God to send a loser like me on Earth." Said Alistair,he also didn't know why he said that but something about Rose made him say the deepest wound in his heart.

"Loser you say."Rose smiled and looked at the stars that were shining brightly .

"I can't say that but I just know we all have some kind of mission. " she continued. 

"Look, even the stars who sign brightly get their light from the sun ,basically sustaining themselves from others but without them we would be living in the dark plain ." Said Rose with a bright smile on her face.

"So,what I mean is this, maybe you could be the star getting strength from your sun and then lighting up other worlds also protecting your sun from getting burned out."said Rose and started laughing. 

Alistair looked at her, and now she knew that he had found her star whom he wanted to protect and that star was already shining bright .He didn't want to become the star but the sun who will protect his star.

"Alistair ,I thought I will give it to you tomorrow in school. " said Rose, making a serious face and bringing out a thing.

"Take this and Happy birthday. "Said she, while Giving Mein a bracelet. 

"How did you know?Alistair asked while taking the gift in a surprised manner.

"Oh! Yesterday I saw the date on your ID card when we crashed on the street." Said She, with a little apologetic laugh.

Alistair couldn't believe that his own mother forgot about his birthday but, Rose remembered it.

He just smiled, putting his head down that day. They both just sat on the bench of the mountain side till midnight. 

Suddenly, he opened his eyes and came back to his present.

Present Moment..

He clenched his hand after looking at the bracelet .

He then got out of the window and ran towards the mountain hoping to get any idea to find her.

"Rose , I will bring you back even if that means I have to go to hell."said he, while running. 

There was only one thought that linger unto his mind and that was ,to bring her star back …..
