Chapter 6 Rescue and Result

Azmaveth POV

"We found out that someone gave an instruction to the maid. The maid obliged since the princess will attend the rewarding ceremony for the commoners. It was said that some knights lured the both of them somewhere and that's the time they disappeared." The general is explaining to me all the details they found out. "We summoned all the knights that day that surrounded the princess and they all said that they are not the ones who are assigned for that task. Even the carriage that the princess used is missing together with the coachman. These are all their statements." He continued to talk about all the information and when he finished.

"Bring me the list of all the knights who were recruited from 5 years to present." I ordered. And he gestured to one of the knights. "Leave. I want to study all these." I commanded and they obeyed immediately.

What the hell are they doing with her? Bastards! They will pay for this! I said in greeted teeth. I'll make sure that I will torture them myself before killing them.

After some hours of studying and analyzing, I have 2 names that I need to investigate myself. I also pinned some locations on the map of the possible places the princess was at based on what the general told me.

"Is someone there?" I called out to anyone who is staying outside the room I am staying in. A knight answered and entered. "Let me know who these two are. If anyone finds out that I asked regarding these two people, I will kill you." I said with my serious voice.

"Y-yes, my lady." He answered stuttering.

We walked towards the places where knights were taking their time. Some are resting and some are practicing. Some of the troops are in the capital and other places searching for the princess.

"The one with blue hair and brown eyes is Norman, his sparring partner is lieutenant Ordgar."

After that I called the leaders of each troop and told them to dispatch knights to certain places. I saw Norman's and that of Ordgar's reaction. Pretty normal. Let's see if my intuition is correct.

Just hang on, Atasha. I'm coming for you.

"Men take the west part of the forest with Levi. The remaining you will follow me and henry. Let's move!" I instructed and we made our move.

This is the fourth day since the princess has been kidnapped and it's raining so it makes it hard for our searching team to move in the forest.

"Henry, I'll leave and make my own move. I'll see you in the intended place in 30 minutes. Keep an eye on that person." I said and left with my horse.

I snapped my finger and invisible armor has been placed throughout my body and my horse. After some time, I found a cabin in the south side of the forest, 100 meters from it, I stopped and unmounted my horse. I run towards that cabin and see if there is anyone inside. There are 3 horses outside the Cabin.

One of them is a horse from the palace. I knew it!

I casted some spell on my ears and tried to listen to what they were saying. The cabin has 1 window and it's locked and has a plank of wood covering it. I also used one magic spell for my eyes to see how many people were inside.

Even though I can't see their faces, the heat from their body is enough. There are three people together and it seems they are the ones who are discussing something. And one sitting far from them.

Atasha is that you??

"The royal knights are coming. We must leave now." One man said.

"How can we move the princess? we can't touch her!" That confirms it.

Someone is coming. "Let's move! I will cast a spell on the princess. If this is a protection spell, it requires mana, we just need to attack her all at once then let's flee." I heard a familiar voice.

That's it. Stupid morons!

Atasha POV

I heard a loud knock from the door outside the room where I am. "The captain orders that we should leave. The knights are coming." A man with a frantic voice.

I can't really hear more of what they are saying.

"The royal knights are coming. We must leave now." One man said.

"How can we move the princess? we can't touch her!" I think they are arguing on how they will move me from my spot.

Then I think someone came again.

"Let's move! I will cast a spell on the princess. If this is a protection spell, it requires mana, we just need to attack her all at once then let's flee." that voice!

4 men barge in the room where I am at. I close my eyes before the impact of their attack. "Ryne, help me!" I shouted with all remaining of my strength.

*Insert explosion sounds. And the wooden wall cracked open.

"Bastards." I opened my eyes and saw the familiar back of a person. With her knight suit drenched in the rain. She looked sideways to look at me, red eye? "Atasha, please close your eyes." Maybe because of fatigue I just followed and closed my eyes, knowing that my best friend is already here.

3rd person POV

"Men! Surround the place! Don't make any mistakes." Levi shouted. Then they heard an explosion sound. In a blink of an eye, horses from the cabin started to run off because of the explosion. "Be on guard! Don't let anyone escape!" He shouted again.

"Yes sir!"

After they saw the signal that came from the direction of Azmaveth, they immediately went to that place. "As expected by Lady Azmaveth, there's something here." As Lady Azmaveth instructed, they must surround the place immediately and prepare to attack if something happens.

"Aaaaaahhh.!" A voice of pain was heard from the inside.

Going back to what is happening from inside the cabin…

"Bastards." Azmaveth said while anger could be felt from her voice. She looked at her best friend and said reassuringly, "Atasha, please close your eyes." Then in one blink blood splashes from the arms of the men inside the room. They shouted in pain while one of them shielded himself; he still got a wound from the slash.

They looked at the lady that had black and red eyes. "D-demo…" before he could finish, his lips were zipped, a magic spell from Azmaveth.

"I prefer not to hear that word." The lady coldly said and she kicked the man, who came flying outside the cabin.

The other two who were astonished and scared to death beside Azmaveth were crying their eyes out begging to be forgiven.

"P-please forgive me. Please don't k-kill me. I still have family"

"S-spare my life. I'll say anything. I'll do anything. I-I just caught up on t-this. Please, lady Azmaveth"

Begging. Crying. And in pain, the two men shut their mouths when they see the smile of the Lady. It's not a smile that everyone would like to see. It is more of a smile of a… devil.

"You should have thought of that before you kidnapped the princess." She stabbed the thigh of the two men and kicked them outside.

The knights who were charging to the cabin saw a man was kicked out flying and the 2 men followed. Bleeding and unconscious. They looked at the broken house and saw Lady Azmaveth walking, in her arms the princess.

"Chain those men!... Lady Azmaveth! Princess!" Levi and Henry called.

"Levi, Henry, take those 3 and make them confess later. 1 rat camouflage with the knights. You know him. I would like to kill that guy but the princess is the priority. I will take her myself to the palace. Finished everything."

"Yes, your highness!" All of the knights saluted and Azmaveth flew using her power to go to the palace.

On that rainy morning, the princess was rescued successfully.

Cerys Pov

I'm thirsty.

I opened my eyes and saw that I was in my bed. I looked around and I saw my brother sitting beside my bed on a chair.

"Brother?" I called. Argh! My body aches. "I need water." I said.

"Sister? You're awake!" he happily said and stood up to get closer to me. "Call the doctor and get some drinking water." he commanded the maid and they immediately follow.

"Water." a hand with a glass of water is in front of me. I drink it and.. That's a familiar voice!

I looked up who it was and "Ryne! You're back!" I said happily after I finished my water. I was about to hug her but someone clears his throat. My aching body disappeared now its back -_-

The doctor arrived and they checked me. It's better if Ryne will do it, it's much faster.

"Your highness, the princess is in good condition. She just needs to eat some foods to bring back her healthy body. It's because of the days she hasn't eaten and just drinks water." The doctor gave me some medicine to speed up my recovery from malnutrition.

"Thank you." we both said, my brother and I.

"Since the doctor said that I'm in a good condition. You may leave now brother. I'll rest for more before dinner." I said while smiling at him.

"Alright. Let the maids know if you need anything. Let's go, Lady Azmaveth." my brother said and looked at Ryne who was standing beside my bed.

"You may go now brother. I have some questions that I want to ask Lady Azmaveth." I said and he left. "Soooo…?" I said, waiting for her to come closer at me since she's at the other side of the bed.

She held my hand and kissed the back of it. I don't know when this started but every time we saw each other, just the 2 of us, she kissed my hand like noblemen do. "I hope you'll gain back the strength you need."

"Thank you Ryne. I'm really glad that you found and rescued me." I said smiling. "Congratulations on your victory as well! Tell me stories." I said excitedly and let her sit beside me while I scooped a bit on the center of my bed.

"Shouldn't you be resting now instead of conversing with me?" She asked worriedly. "But thank you. I would not win if it wasn't for your handkerchief." She said and chuckled.

"Hey! I did my best to sew that!" I know she's teasing me. "So? Tell me about your adventure." I said to continue the topic. It's been like this. Everytime she goes back after wars with demon beasts, I'll ask her what happened. I just want to know.

She told me stories about their fights and how big the beasts are, magics she learned while at the battle field and some new soldiers.

"We also went to Earl Lennox' estate. There was a small celebration since his son went to battle with us."

"Oh! The family who has business with leathers? If I remember correctly, Earl Lennox has 1 son and 1 daughter." I said remembering the names of the nobles and a bit of their family background.

"You are right. Though I find it weird that I caught the daughter looking at me instead of my father and her father who were speaking at that time." What's that? Why is there a pinched in my heart? Nevermind, I think I need to rest but I want to talk more with Ryne! 😩

An hour before dinner, I let Ryne go home for her to rest. I learned that she immediately investigated and rescued me without proper rest.

I think, I'll ask my father to let me go to the Quillion's estate tomorrow or the next day.
