Hi! Author here. This is my first attempt to do some literary work and hope that you readers will be able to appreciate the humor and fun in words. Word Art Online is a game set in a different universe. Unlike the known classes in games, professions in WAO all starts with an 'artist' profession (martial artist, word artist, sword artist, etc) until they reached the grandmaster league. In-game world does not differentiate NPCs from normal players, that is, players can also choose to be NPCs. Though this idea may sound absurd, limitations for NPCs also hold true for the players acting as NPCs hence, limiting their freedom. Aside from the normal game players, the rise of WAO has a dark side on it. The Online Prison, OP, was established right after the war time and has been running for 10 years . Prisoners of war and crime convicts were used as test material to establish and adjust game specifics, whereas the prisoners, rather than living in normal cell, were all lying down confined in capsules as beta-testers of the game. While the game was a virtual reality itself, I aim to depict some real-life scenarios in game as part of quests or events. So please bear yourselves and beware of the roller-coaster ride of emotions as you may sometimes read a story of tragedy aside from the usual fun in the story. Word Art Online is not a parody of Sword Art Online (though a letter is missing from the latter) but is rather an online game conceptualized through the art of words and speaking. Please enjoy the various skills and abilities of the Word Artists and Word Art Masters as they explore the continent called Pangaea. This work is a work aim at word plays. Do note that I also aim this piece to be an educational work of art aside from the enjoyment it will provide.
