Only at chapter 110 at the moment. So take this with a grain of salt. As I've still got over 1000 chapters to go. I will only address issues, mostly in the search for answers. So please do comment on my review so I can find answers. Starting off in the first 10 or so chapters, Karl (MC) gets accepted into what is supposed to be the kingdom's elite academy. But it feels more like a military camp. Or Kai Cenats Streamer University for the students that they want to transform into idols. Almost nothing about the academy actually screams of the academy life. We've only learnt the name of 5 other first years. Not counting Molly/Gertrude since idk what year she is. And the only one that's shown up more than 3 times is Dana. So Karl has barely had any interactions with his own age group. Another part that leads me to think of the academy as more of a military camp is how the students are separated by their class (mage/warrior/beserker/etc) Although I do feel the rest of the students are experiencing a bit of an academy life since they don't have private instructors like Rita. I guess what I'm saying is, Karl needs more interaction with the first years and the teachers/instructors that are teaching them. I feel like I'm watching Steve Rodgers if he got a bunch of personal training in the military, separate from the others after he got the super serum if he hadn't gone to sleep for like 70 years. Now onto the leading issue. Character design, development, and description. The world building has been top notch, with many background characters (unarmed military personnel and civilians) having lines and interactions that make the world feel more real. But other more important details about side characters (named instructors, and the few repeating students) extras (unnamed students) and main characters (Dana and Karl) Are left out. I'd like to be able to imagine what characters look like consistently throughout the novel. Meaning I need to get physical descriptions of the hair, eyes, and clothing consistently. I barely even remember what Dana looks like now. And just because students may be extras doesn't mean they can't be a little fleshed out too. Give them names and a bit of physical descriptions too when they show up. Karl calls a girl by her class name, Druid. I know nothing about her except that this Druid is a girl and is a transforming type druid. And she's been one of the 10 people that have been with Karl for the last few weeks. The only ones I know even a little about are the female Cleric, Dana, and the Druid. What about the rest of them? Moving on, but still in the character design problems, I realized that the first years are all 14 year olds, and thanks to the potions their bodies have grown quicker. But I have no clue how much at all. All I have to go by is the fact that 14 year old Karl who hadn't hit puberty yet grew a bit of a stubble beard afterwards. So I have to assume 17-18 years old physically. Other than Karl and his pets, the rest of the character's body proportions aren't properly mentioned. Usually in a novel with the r18 tag the author will go into great detail regarding that specifically, I'm going off of way too much imagination here. Now, while their bodies have grown beyond their true age, their minds have not. So why is it that so many 14 year olds are here, yet not a single one shows a fraction of the mentality of a 14 year old? They're all perfectly fine with killing, and that same group of 10 I talked about earlier (all of which are first years btw) are perfectly fine stripping down to just their underwear in front of the opposite sex and then swim together in the lake? Dana is one of them, and she doesn't get embarrassed at all. Meanwhile not long before, she had blushed because her golem was wearing nothing but a loincloth. God I wrote a lot, guess these were bugging me more than I thought. Long story short: Characters and World background are definitely this novel's weaknesses so far. As a reader you are left imagining far more than you should. Every single character in the novel isn't as fleshed out as they should be. Both physically and mentally. This in turn is affecting my rating for World Background, because too little background information is given for me to envision anything other than the main objective. It's like watching the rough draft of an animated show where only the main characters have any detail given to them. Everyone else is just a blank face, and everything in the surroundings is a void yet to be filled. Also the characters mentalities don't match match their ages well.

Well, Gertrude in a kids story could be a little girl. Maybe she's the protagonist who overcomes difficulties in her small world. Well, it could be that Gertrude meets a tragic end. Perhaps she was caught up in the consequences of her own bad decisions throughout the story. For example, if she had been involved in some sort of deception, the truth could have come out in the end and led to her downfall. It's also possible that she was a victim of the circumstances around her, like if there was a conflict between different characters and she got caught in the crossfire.
