Year 1218 (Prequel to Vampire Chronicles) Joanna had suddenly lost her father in the hands of witches all in one day, Her friend Cory takes her to a ball in the kingdom of Ediessa where the great lord Alonso resides there. She was also given a task to do from her fellow chief that is also her grandfather to deliver a message while she is there. Joanna didn't know she would have to pay for her grandfathers debt only to become a personal maid to serve the Alonso but she doesn't know that Lord Alonso wants her for himself.
