Life was never fair to Zion.
A leaking roof, endless work at a Helix depot, a father drowning in debt, and a future that already seemed decided for him. People like him weren't supposed to rise. They were supposed to survive.
Then he receives a conditional admission into Helix High School, a place where the next generation of Controllers are created.
For the first time in his life, Zion thinks fate might finally be giving him a chance.
But before his journey even begins, he sees a nightmare.
A nightmare where blood covers the ground, his body is torn apart, and the person standing over him with a blade isn't an enemy—
It's his best friend.
He thought it was only a dream.
Until reality slowly starts moving toward that future.
