The drone invasion was such a brilliant tonal gear-shift, Timmy splashing a bowl of warm vegetable soup straight into a spider drone's camera sensor mid-panic, then rigging up a micro-EMP bomb from old camera parts to take down two more, was such a fun, resourceful way to show her hacker instincts under pressure. And the moment right after, when the suited GREEN_Corp agent lifts Mbok Srini off the floor and Timmy screams "let go of my mom," her own slip of the word catching Mbok Srini's eyes wide with surprise, hit so much harder against the backdrop of drones and cybernetic enforcers. I do manga-style commission art, and stories built around this kind of scrappy street-hacker-versus-mega-corporation setting, especially when it's grounded by real found-family stakes, are exactly what I love drawing. I'd love to create art of Timmy's eyes glowing vibrant green mid-panic as the spider drone's laser locks onto her, or that devastating moment of her being torn away down the garbage chute while Mbok Srini is pinned by the tactical squad's net below.
