This doesn't feel like a typical vampire story. What caught me first was the atmosphere. The story takes its time building this feeling that something is wrong, without immediately throwing the vampire in your face. The whole “records, missing people, forgotten names” concept is honestly one of the most interesting parts. I also really like how Count Velmora isn't constantly appearing. Sometimes you barely see anything at all, but you still feel like something is watching from somewhere. The Dimitri storyline especially made the world feel much bigger than just Elias and the castle. The writing is definitely slower and more old-fashioned than most WebNovel stories, but I think that actually works for the gothic horror atmosphere. It feels like you're reading someone's account of an old mystery rather than a standard modern vampire novel. I'm curious about what Count Velmora actually is and how far back his existence goes. Definitely continuing.
