The second arc is a spectacular and well constructed horror story! The set up and development of the arc was amazing and perfectly dark and horrible. The thread of humor woven through it was a nice counterpoint to the dark atmosphere. Well done!

This novel does have all the standard characteristics of a Ye Fei Yi novel. Flawed characters in love with each other, who constantly miss opportunities to be with each other, until finally everything works out. It was refreshing that the ML gained self-awareness early in the novel and this helped to facilitate a friendship between the ML & FL, so that every interaction wasn't as strained as is common for this author. It made the plot more dynamic and the novel more enjoyable to read. The last 100+ chapters are continuation and epilogue for the secondary story. This second can be very hard to read be there is a lot physical violence and rape described. It's tough subject matter, but it does counterpoint the plot of the main story very well. Good read.
