So far, this fic is doing really well. I can't say how the future development will go, but, author, you can clearly write better character designs than Miraculous itself. Please keep doing that, because the original show is a mess and honestly feels like it desperately needed a remake. In my opinion, Miraculous is a mess. From what I know, the original concept for Miraculous was supposed to feature a darker and more mature story, along with a completely different version of Cat Noir named Félix(which now is Adrian's cousin). He was originally portrayed as cold, moody, and hostile toward Ladybug. There were also several other characters who never made it into the final show. However, Thomas Astruc eventually changed the concept and took the story in a different direction based on his own creative vision. Astruc has even said that your partner shouldn't be your therapist, at least in the sense that one person shouldn't be responsible for fixing or improving the other. But I disagree with the idea if it's taken too literally. One of the important parts of a healthy relationship is supporting each other, helping each other grow, making each other feel valued, and reminding each other that things can get better. A partner shouldn't be your therapist, but they can absolutely be someone who helps you become a better version of yourself. So, sometimes I wonder what Astruc's view of his own characters' relationships actually is. One of my biggest problems with the show is how Marinette is written. She repeatedly engages in obsessive and invasive behavior toward Adrien, yet the story rarely gives her meaningful consequences for it. She's constantly presented as someone who talks about responsibility, but then she takes Miraculouses away from other heroes for personal reasons, even when those heroes have proven themselves useful. She has also made serious mistakes that contributed to people becoming akumatized, yet the consequences are usually extremely limited. Instead, we get a quick "lesson learned" moment, often after talking with Tikki, and then the story moves on as if everything has been resolved. That's the part that frustrates me the most. Characters can make mistakes, but good character development requires those mistakes to actually have consequences. Learning a lesson isn't very meaningful if the character doesn't have to face the results of their actions or change their behavior afterward. I think Miraculous had a lot of potential, but the way some of its characters and relationships were handled made the story far more frustrating than it needed to be.
