I liked the power system and the world building is decent. However, the jingoistic Chinese nationalism is off-putting, and the abject dehumanization of black people is rancid. Black people are consistently referred to as chimpanzees, gorillas, etc. I gave up when the MC effortlessly mind controlled a black opponent, which was framed as being due to the inherent mental deficiencies of the black "species."
