Surprisingly good slice of life baseball novel. has some poignant moments, has some comedic moments. Obviously features a lot of baseball but is pretty good about moving the games along with enough detail to frame the action, but not getting bogged down in the minutiae and technical details of the games.. While perhaps the Atkins family is a little too perfect overall the characters are believable consistent, fleshed out, and develop (emotionally and physically) in a believable manner. Other than some rare minor grammatical/spelling errors there is nothing technically wrong with the writing. Seems like an easy recommendation for fans of shows like Diamond no Ace, Major, Ookiku Furikabutte and similar stories. Also a good recommendation for people sick of fantasy, and system novels as well.
