Writing Quality: 4/5 Update Stability: 2/5 Story Development: 3/5 Character Design: 4/5 World Background: 4/5 I had this fic on my to-read list and finally decided to read it. And, honestly, I was disappointed. For starters, the title is misleading. The protagonist has Brightburn's style, but he isn't Brightburn. Why not change it to Superman? Obviously, it was just a gimmick to get attention. Superman is one of my favorite superheroes, second only to Spiderman. But it wasn't at all what I expected to read, given the title and the cover. Apparently, the author added the "Heroic" tag after several complaints in the reviews. I added this fic to my library when I was only about five chapters in, when there was no such tag, so I clearly wasn't expecting such a development. I usually like to read the first few chapters before reading the reviews, but this is one of those cases where I regret not having read them sooner. Maybe I'll give it another chance when I'm in the mood for something with a heroic protagonist.
