refugee love story

I nearly finished volume 2 and I am very excited for the third volume. so new city, aaventurer and magic guild, blacksmith, refugee camp, dungeon, new monsters,etc

I'm a TAP refugee following this author wherever they decide to go! Solid VR MMO storyline, NPC engagement, and a unique MC skillset. Harem elements are light and don't distract, if that's not your thing.

This is a fun story! The first few chapters had me laughing hysterically. When you add in some of the funny paragraph comments, it is funnier than Mystery Science Theatre 3000! The Protagonist, Yang Chen is REALLY a dim bulb! Unfortunately, the carefree lone wolf early chapters of killing zombies and leveling up comes to an end all too quickly. Yang Chen picks up a "Beautiful Swordswoman" with "Skin like white jade" all too rapidly and *** rears its ugly head. {If we MUST have a Love interest for the Protagonist—just ONCE I'd like for her to be a 6-foot Serena Williams look-alike with "Skin like rich milk chocolate"!!!} Then we head for a Refugee center—Skew refugee centers and anything ran by the Government! And shortly thereafter, we hook up with a Military expedition. I think that it is safe to say that the story is pretty thoroughly wanked at this point. THEY DID strip one dude of his uniform and kick him out of the military for starting a fight. And he begged to stay in!??!!!!! I WISH that it was that easy to get thrown out when I was in the Military! Skew the Military!!!

Hi there, I just came across "The Wrong Bride, The Right Groom" and Aveline's story really pulled me in. The setup alone is gripping, a discarded princess forced to marry the infamous King Magnus in her sister's place, terrified he'll discover the deception and become her fourth murdered bride. But that quiet flashback of nine year old Aveline handing medicine to a defiant refugee boy, refusing to accept charity from a stranger, sets up such a satisfying payoff when those same grey eyes meet hers at the altar years later. The way Magnus deliberately changes his vows mid ceremony, then kisses his own knuckle instead of her lips to protect her in front of the entire court, tells you everything about who he really is without a single line of exposition. There's a lot I'd want to illustrate here. Young Aveline thrusting the medicine pot at the wounded boy in that grim refugee scene, the charged wedding altar moment with his sword worn fingers lifting her veil to reveal familiar grey eyes, or the tense mirror scene in the drawing room with his hands settled at her waist as he silently relaces her bodice. The blend of political marriage intrigue, a slow reveal of hidden identity, and a fierce warrior king who turns out to be far gentler than his reputation gives this story such a striking, emotionally charged visual world to work with. I do manga style commission art, and stories with arranged marriage tension, hidden identity reveals, and a stoic warrior lead with unexpected tenderness are exactly the kind of stories I love bringing to life through illustration.
