The planet Neire is cursed, and a malevolent corruption is spread throughout the lands. Dark horrors reside around every corner, and safety is a concept of tales and legends. Trapped in a world where they are at the bottom of the natural food chain, humans have followed the trends of the lands, and done something unnatural. Banding together, they hunted their hunters. Weapons in hand, they faced living nightmares. Unable to wield aether, they used Eldrim cards to spread their dominion. In a world where death was their only birthright, they carved out an empire that was legend incarnate. But while they fought cursed monsters outside, a more insidious monstrosity struck from within. Greed, deception, and war marked the end of the Valeriya Empire. Hundreds of years later, Nero is born into a nation of warriors, in an age cracking beneath an unseen weight. Whispers of a new order, undercurrents to seize power, and a desire to form a new empire have spread throughout the lands. The world is ready for a change, but it might not be ready for Nero who was betrayed. They messed with his brother, and now, they must face the consequences. An interesting story and very different from the usual Chinese fantasy stories. At the moment it looks like the story is about a teenager who lives in a magical world, in many ways comparable to a cultivation world, with a civilization level that is comparable to the 70's or 80's in the real world. The warriors of this world use special cards to battle the dangerous beasts that are living in the wilderness between cities. The warriors learn to use these cards in schools, academies/universities and sects (yup it is strange but in the world of Chinese fantasy the difference between sects and schools is like the difference between private and public education and learning at the sect is on invitation basis). It is not clear how the strength of warriors is determined but what is clear is that it is influenced by the card level the warrior can use and the amount of control the warrior has over the card. The mc lives in a city and was lucky to learn how to make the ******st of the ******st battery card to make a living. One day he finds a card that teaches him how to make more advanced cards. The mc uses his skills to make movie cards and makes a lot of money with them. These movie cards are still very low level but he uses techniques that have been lost in time and that makes the cards special. The mc learns to make more card types and he even starts to learn battle cards. And even though there is not a lot of fighting so far I have a feeling that the novel will slowly turn into more of a cultivation novel but with an unique cultivation theory compared to the usual cultivation theories (usually there are 9 levels and 9 sub levels per level)
