This made the curdled liquid a hostile environment for bad bacteria — not to mention a hardier and more substantial foodstuff.

Solid Story. I would prefer more character interactions less system. Maybe some character quirks for him like Terry's gym and yogurt addiction or Boyle's weird food preferences.
