The story is fine but there’s 0 character arcs. This is a story about making video games and then having people react to cool video games. It’s a translated Chinese novel, so it’s always ready to move on to the next arc but this story would actually really benefit from callbacks to previous arcs. Post Minecraft, at least it gets mentioned as advertising, and that is the most reflection you get. If I want to turn my brain off for a bit, I might keep reading but I’m at the rainbow six siege stage and I feel the story starting to drag. The constant game development needs character development in order to make the story interesting, and this is mostly about playing games. I hope it gets better but I don’t really see myself continuing this story.
