varney the vampire victorian era gothic novels

The storyline is decently unique. There are very few grammar errors. The mix of magic and steampunk settings are just the right mix with nothing over the top. as to the complaints about historical accuracy, keep in mind this is FICTION. as to the complaints about victorian era accuracy, victorian era styes were not limited to just england (france and england during victorian era had very similar architecture and social structures) Before you complain or disagree, do more than a 2 minute research into victorian era, architecture, and social structures. and leave the comments on accuracy to those of us who are considered experts is architecture, social structures, and historical facts of the victorian era. - it saves a lot of time and makes things more enjoyable for everyone.

Story wise, I've read a lot of other good books BUT this is my first time reading a vampire in medieval era/semi Victorian type of setting which I think will raise anyone's interest especially if you like that certain era setting. And on the serious note, there is something eye catching about this story that I can't explain. (Sorry for the grammar if ever it's incorrect. English is not my mother tongue.)

Well translated novel with an interesting time period and concept. It doesn’t have the shounen action that some historical novels have, but instead portrays a more mundane, day to day life. Many references to Impressionist era France / Victorian era England. Thank you for the translation, translator. Looking forward to additional chapters.

The Crown's Obsession is one of the best book to read where the main character Calhoun HAWTHORNE is a HEART-THROB. He is someone who has the same smile on his face if he's saving a kitten out of a tree or cutting your head off. His dark humour is hilarious. For Victorian era, Gore and Vampire lover, this book is recommended.
