So there I was, just a kid back then, reading through Mars’ Against the Gods, completely hooked, living for every chapter. Then poof! Mars disappears like a cultivator vanishing into the void.
Fast forward a few years. I’ve got a job now (yeah, tragic), and I randomly decide to check back in on the novel. And surprise, there’s a continuation! Turns out it’s not Mars, but a fanfic by Mywifebeatingmeup called Against the Gods: Ascension. And let me tell you—it’s good. Like, “stay-up-all-night-pretending-I’m-still-sixteen” kind of good.
So I binged it like a true power-hungry cultivator… until the worst happened. I hit the end. No more chapters. Hiatus. Pain.
Tried to move on. Failed miserably. My brain kept throwing random endings at me for this beautifully slow, frustrating masterpiece (for me at least). And then one day, while sitting on my porcelain throne (yes, that kind of enlightenment), I had my own Thnos moment (censored for Dsney reasons) and just went:
“Fine. I’ll do it myself.” (Please, don't sue me, Dsney.)
So yeah, here it is. My fanfic continuation of a fanfic continuation. Took me about 4–5 days. Was it worth it? No clue. But it was fun, so probably.
Now stop reading this nonsense and just go read the story already—or don’t. Totally up to you.
