It's a really good story and I personally like it. However, I am a bit surprised that a story like this one (basically a light novel style) became popular because as far as I know, the people in China hate Japanese a lot. Like seriously a lot. Half of the times I find Japanese as antagonists in the translated novels so far. So, a novel like this is a really pleasent surprise.
