In the bottom of the pot or wok lay the ginger , onions, star anise, chili pepper, and cinnamon covering the entire bottom. then add in the rest of the ingredients on top of it. 2. bring the pot to a boil cover, then simmer till the sauce becomes a syrupy consistency which takes around 30 to 45 minutes, stirring occasionally. then serve this dish serves up to 2-3 people and is best served with rice.
