the border don winslow detective novels

I wouldn't recommend novel for people to read. I guess this is authors first novel, cause inexperience is felt while reading this. While premise could be interesting, lack of any research about america and police give novel too many defects at start. e.g. crossing the border with mexico while vaulting over the fence/wall (most of us mexican border in 2003 didnt have fence/wall and texas-mexican border is river), also promotion to detective just cause of good combat skills, or detectives having uniforms. Also instead of Sherlock type of detective, you get a Rambo in a police.

This is a good story for those who like mystery and detective novels. The only thing i don't like MC's obsession about returning to Earth. A little romance will be good too.

The only thing you need to know, is that the book has Chinese fan fic USA in it. As in, the USA that the Chinese are brainwashed into believing exists so they don't try to escape china. US Border patrol gunned down a herd of illegal immigrants trying to cross into the us border in chapter 2. Literally gunned down civilians with a machine gun from a helicopter just for trying to cross the border illegally. No warning to leave, just seeing the herd and flying over to gun them down. Then goes on to say that they wouldn't bother chasing the stragglers that survived, because 100,000 enter illegally every year anyway. As if that isn't a contradiction with gunning them down. If you've ever read the Chinese super detective in marvel fan fic, that kind of usa. But maybe worse. If you can ignore immersion shattering stuff that the Chinese always throw in about america, it's a decent book. Like the very first American he meets being racist to the mc for being Chinese. If you haven't learned how to ignore the BS yet, don't bother reading.
