To anyone thinking of picking up this novel. If you liked Ultimate Evolution then you will likely enjoy this series. There are books a bit like it that came before. Robert A. Heinlein's The Number of the Beast from 1980 has some of the basic premises but the plot is very different. There was no series quite like this one. It started its own genre. Not a lot of works can say that. As a consequence it is a bit ruff around the corners and falls apart a bit as the story goes on but it has a spark of originality that makes this worth reading. Even if you put it down before the end there is still a few hundred chapters that are quite enjoyable.
