I'm not too far in, perhaps half of the current chapters, and I've never written a review on Qidan before. However, I adore this little story. It's not about cultivation, but it has traces of it here and there. It's not really about romance, but you can't help but see traces of it. It's truly a Japanese story without the Japanese weak points. I hate Japanese stories. I used to like them, but they're too damned light hearted. Stuff like one punch man is great, but if I randomly select a JP novel, it tends to be too light. A random CN novel tends to be intense. This, is a light hearted intense novel. It's worth reading. Reviews won't show you the light. It's a trap.

In terms of romance genre, I only read Japanese light novels since they had flavors I want. I don't think this novel has it. But the structure and style are quite on different level.
