I can honestly say that chapters 100-110 are dark. However, so what? If you want a Disney ending go read a Disney book. Its neither the end of the book nor something extremely dark. So what about conflict about killing. The character just decided he wasn't going g to permadeath someone. He lives in a society where death is not permanent. Why would he want that when his parents were mysteriously killed by a serial killer. It's a great read and worth reading on.
