FYI, chapter 39 too at least 42 has a transphobic storyline where being a criminal pervert and a transitioning person are both presented as strong negatives and approximately equivalent. The trans woman takes pictures of other woman without their consent and sells them, but both this crime and being a Trans woman are presented as equally disgusting and horrendous. If your beliefs in an individual's rights and civil liberties are different, maybe choose another book.
