This is a clarification regarding the Kazuki & Issei Pawns conflict... This is how it works in this storyline: In canon, a Devil normally has 8 Pawn pieces, but multiple pawns can be consumed to reincarnate a single person if their soul, potential, or compatibility requires it. That’s already established in DxD with Issei. When Rias reincarnated Issei, she unknowingly used seven Pawn pieces. At the time, it was shocking because he was just a normal human… or so they thought.
