TL;DR: Its really good, give it a chance. This web novel is in my top 3 of about twenty web/light novels I've read and in the top 5 of the hundreds of other more western books that I've read. The only problem that I have is that sometimes the grammar of the sentences is lets say less 'smooth' compared to the western books that I am used to, but is consistent with the other web novels that I've read. All in all it's an excellent read.

This novel tries, and fails to be "sophisticated". The author attempts to copy Western novels but doesn't understand that readers can just go read that elsewhere. There is no attempt at even mixing Eastern and Western styles of writing (e.g. Lord of the Mysteries), just straight up Western. If I enjoyed reading purely Western style novels so much, I wouldn't be on this platform seeking something different.
